The way we found Newman cemetery - At
Quapaw Okla., take, Rd. 50, it will become, Rd 60, go to Rd 670,
drive around for two to three hrs. on dirty roads, until you see a little
old man sitting on the front of a red tractor. Ask him how
to find Newman cemetery. He told us to go over the hill &
turn into his gate, go around the dog pen and into the other gate,
past the cow with big horns, by the stock trailer across the fields to
the line of rolled bales of hay. Then across another field,
and Newman cemetery is on the right, and it was. We took the
Pictures and headed back. We did fine, till we got to the cow with
the big horns, we were in woods, in a field and we could not find the way
out, the cow had MOVED. So we back tracked, and found the stock
trailer & through the gate, pass the dog pen and out the last gate.
There was the little man and his son, we thanked him, and ask the
way to Miami. He told us to go, right & left, and right &
left and right & left, all the way to Miami and if we went more than
24 miles, we were probably lost. It is a trip worth taking
, but you may want to take a lunch.
