This article is taken from the Loraine Republican, Lorain, Ohio, edition 9 August 1843. It reprints a letter from a trail traveler [not identified] who sent it on 3 June 1843 from the Kansas River. It was originally published in the Iowa Gazette on 8 July 1843.
