I Richard A'barowe of the p[ar]yshe of Marden in the Countie of Kent beyng of sadde mynde & good remembrance (lawded be God) make my testament & last will yn this wise
First I bequeith my soule to Allmyghty God to our lady saynte Mary and to all the holy company of hevyn And my body to be buried yn the churche of Saynt mighell of Marden yn the myddyl part of the same churche

Item I bequeith to the high aultr of the same churche iijs iiijd
Item I bequeith to the use of the same churche for brekyng of the grownd vjs viijd
Item I will to be expended yn deeds of Almes At my out beryng vs
Item I bequeith yn like man[ne]r at my monethes day yn dedes of Almes vjs viijd
Item I bequeith yn like manr at my yers mynde yn deds of Almes vjs viijd

Item I bequeith to Agnes my wiffe A browne hewed cowe
Item I bequeith to my saide wiffe all suche stuff of household as she brought with her to me at the tyme of my mariage
Item I bequeith to my saide wif [line crossed through, and not readable] of my other household vj pecs of pewt [pieces of pewter]
Item I bequeith to my said wif my best voeryng? of my bed
Item I bequeith to my saide wif A grete cawderne [cauldron] yn occupation duryng her naturall lif And aft(er) her decesse I will the sayd Cawdren to Margery my dought[er] And if it fortune the saide Margerye decesse before she be maryed Then I will the saide cawdren aft the decesse of my saide wif to John my sone And to his heyres forevr

Item I bequeith to Margery my saide doughtr vjli xiijs iiijd [£6 13s 4d] to be paid by myn executor or his heires when the saide Margery come to the age of xxiiij yeres And to the heyres of her body And if it fortune the saide Margery to decesse before the age of xxiiij yers havyng noone heires of her body laufully begoten Then I wyll out of the said vjli xiijs iiijd Thomas Holbene my wiffs sone lxvjs iiijd to be paid by myne executor or his heirs

Item I bequeith to the said Thomas Holbene xxxiijs iiijd yn reco[m]pense of certayn catalls? I sold of his
Item I bequeith to Margery, Margarete & Isabell my dought[er]s children to either of thaym xijd
Item I bequeith to evry of my godchyldren & to evry one of thaym iiijd

The residue of all my goods & catalls moveable & unmovable my detts & bequiethes fulfylled & payd I give & bequeith to John A'barowe my sone Whom I make my sole executor for to fulfyll this my last will & testament for the helth of my soule and all xpen [Christian] soules

This is the last will of me the forsaid Richard Aborowe made & declared the day & yer above wryten yn prsence of
John Chamberlayn, Vicar of Marden; Robert Dunnbery & Rychard Myghell

by lycence of my feoff[ee]s, That is to say George Maplesden; Thomas Alphe; Rychard Myghell & Robert Dunbery As by a dede to thaym made more playnely will appe[a]r

Fyrst I will to Agnes my wiffe out of all my lands & tenements xxti s [20s] a yer duryng her naturall lif At fowr termes of the yer to be paid by evyn porcons And also I will to my saide Wiffe to have her dwellng free yn a chambre of my said messuage wher I nowe dwell with mete & drynke, fyer & flete at the p[ro]pre costs & charge of John Aborrowe my sone dury[n]g her natural lif

Item I will that if it fortune that the saide Agnes my saide wiffe to be co[n]tented with the mete & drynke whiche the said John A'Borrowe my sone shall fynde her then I will to the saide Agnes my saide wiffe shalhave out of all my said Lands & ten[emen]ts xls a yer [40s] fyndyng her self mete & drynke And to have a chambre for her self at her pleasur(e) yn my said messuage yn like case duryng her natural lif To be payd yn manr & forme aforesaid at iiij usual times fo the yer by evyn porcons wth a clause of distresse to her & her assignes duryng the time of he(r) natural liffe

Item I will that John A'Borrowe my sone shall fynde Margarye my saide doughtr mete & drynke & all manr of Apparell to her belongyng unto the tyme the saide Margery comm to the age of xij [12] yeres
Item I wyll that wher(e) I have given yn my testament above writen to Margery my saide doughtr vjli xiijs iiijd As yn the said testament mor(e) playnely it wyll apper

If it fortune my said sone or his heires to make defaute of payment to my doughtr of the said sume of vjli xiijs iiijd at the age of xxiiij yeres or to her heires if any of thaym shalbe lyvyng Then I will my feoffs or their Survivors shall sell A pece of land called Spenscrofft lyeng yn the saide pyshe of Marden upon the Denne of Engherst coteynyg [containing] by estymacon iij Acres of land to the best p[ri]ce that they can or may And the money thereof to be received by my said feoffs or their survivors to thentente [the intent] to paye to my said doughtr vjli xiijs iiijd
And the rest of all my money comyng of the sayd sale I will it be paid to John Aborrowe my sone & to hys heyres

Item I will the residue of all my lands & tents. lyeng yn Marden aforesaid or els wher(e) to my said sone John to his heirs & Assignes forevr
