First I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Adams my true and lawful wife all the money plate jewels linen books pictures and household furniture carriages horses cows waggons carts hay corn and all farming utensils that I may have belonging to me at the time of my death
Secondly I further give and bequeath to the before named Elizabeth Adams for and during her natural life all my landed
estate in the parish of Cranbrook with all houses buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging consisting Swifts� purchases
of Mr Jeremiah Curtis of R---- a farm adjoining known by the name of Little Buckhurst which I purchased of Mr Zachary ----- and
another farm adjoining which I purchased of ----- ----- of Maidstone called ------ Farm and a field in the entrance of the Short
Lane purchased of John Colvin of Cranbrook and a cottage and three acres of land situate lying and being at S------ Wood in
the occupation of William Snooks? and purchased by me of the said William Snoop
and at the death of the before named
Elizabeth Adams I give and bequeath the before mentioned landed estate and estates with all the buildings and
appurtenances thereunto belonging to and for the use and benefit of my three daughters, Elizabeth Moore Adams, Cordelia
Adams and Louisa or to such of them as may be living at the time of the death of the before named Elizabeth Adams my true
and lawful wife in equal and even portions and if necessary the whole to be sold to the highest bidder and the produce to be
divided between them in equal portions
and in case none of my before named children shall be living at the decease of their
mother I will and bequeath the same to my son Thomas Adams should he be living at the time;
in case he should not be living at that time I will and bequeath the same to my second son Frederick Adams;
in case he should not be living at that time I will and bequeath the same to my third son Henry Benjamin Moore? Adams;
and in case he should not be living to my fourth son Simon Barwel Adams
but should none of them be living at that time I will and bequeath the same to my sister Elizabeth
Wallis of Cambridge for her life and at her death to the heir of my eldest son
Thirdly I will and bequeath a house belonging to me in Glanville Street, Rathbone Place in the parish of St Mary be come? to the before mentioned Elizabeth Adams for and during her natural life, at her death to my daughters then living but should none of them be living to my oldest son then living but should none of them be living to my heir at law
Fourthly I will and bequeath my lifehold farm at Mayshill? in the County of Gloucester to my said wife Elizabeth Adams
Fifthly I will and bequeath a house land and appurtenances belonging to me and situated in Calcutta the writings? of which are in the hands of my agents Messrs Borran? & Pallizer merchants of Calcutta to my aforesaid wife Elizabeth Adams for and during her life and at her death to be sold and the amount to be equally divided amongst such of my daughters before mentioned as may be living and should none of them be living at the death of my wife Elizabeth Adams there be divided equally among such of my sons as may be living
Sixthly I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods chattels lands hereditaments rights and credits whatsoever and wheresoever after payment of my just debts and funeral expenses to my said wife Elizabeth Adams whom I do hereby appoint whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament
in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of August one thousand seven hundred and

I wish Mrs Adams to give my gold watch chain seals to my son Thomas Adams; my blue stone ring to my son Frederick
Adams; my large gold headed cane to my son Benjamin and my small gold headed byotted? cane to my son Barwell; a shirt
pin of hair set round with diamonds to Elizabeth my oldest daughter; my ring with Mrs Sampson�s hair & a cypher A S to my
second daughter Cordelia and round? diamond shirt buckle to my third daughter Louisa as trifling tokens of my remembrance
lamenting that I have not more to bestow on them but I have fought a hard battle through life to do what I have done being
thrown at the age of seventeen upon the world without fortune without friends and without connections but the Almighty was
pleased to place me in situations far above my expectations and with poor exertions and without happiness I got through them
to my much beloved friend Mrs Sampson I had in a former will left a single stone diamond ring but my pecuniary -------
occasioned me to part with it and I have nothing left to bestow but the fullest assurance of my most disinterested affection and
friendship which I hope she will believe remained inviolate to the latest moment of my life

This will was proved at London with a codicil 15 April 1807 before Charles Cooke Doctor of Laws by the oath of Elizabeth Adams, widow the relict of the said deceased and sole executrix named in the said will to whom administration was granted.
On 20 Nov 1824 Admon of the goods & chattles of Thomas Adams late of Osborn Lodge in Cranbrook deceased ------ by
Elizabeth Adams now the relict and sole executrix in the said deceased�s will was granted to William Green Esq of Russell ?
Square in the County of Midx as a person for that purpose named by and on the part and behalf of Charles Wilkins Esq and
Lucy Wilkins his wife and limited so far only as remains all the right title and ------- of him the said deceased in a note the
interest and dividends now due and to grow due on �6410 at 3% consols ----- annuities now standing in the joint names of
Peter? and John Scott previously deceased for the purpose of receiving the same and also in and to the principal sum of
�6410 3% annuities for the purpose only of transferring the same into the names of Frederick Adams and John
Shakespeare the new Trustees in order that the Trusts of a certain � of Settlement may be carried into effect but no further or
otherwise or in other manner whatsoever having been first sworn duly to administer
The said Elizabeth Adams made her will and appointed her son Frederick Adams Charles Willis and Richard Wilson? Forbes
Esq Executors who examined the Probate and admon thereof
