I constitute and appoint my son Richard Ades and my son in law Francis Tress of Northiam in the County of Sussex Gentleman Executors of this my Will
I give to my Grandson George Ades one of the sons of my son Stephen Ades the sum of twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain
I give to Martha Vousden now living with me the sum of ten pounds of like money
I give to Thomas Davis of Brede in the said County of Sussex who lived with me many years the like sum of ten pounds
and I give to Benjamin Gain of the same place who also lived with me many years the sum of five pounds of like money
which said several legacies I direct shall be paid forthwith after my death
and as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever ( after payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary and other incidental expences) I give and bequeath the same as follows (that is to say)
I give and bequeath unto my Son Stephen Ades one full equal eighth part or share thereof
I give and bequeath unto my said son and Executor Richard Ades one other full equal eighth part or share thereof
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Benjamin Cramp of Bexhill in the said County of
Sussex Gentleman one full equal eighth part or share thereof
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Thomas Agate (Widow of Peter Agate late of the Minories London) one other full equal eighth
part or share thereof
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann (the Wife of Tilden Smith of Vine Hall in the Parish of Mountfield in the same County
Gentleman one other full equal eighth part or share thereof
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary (the Wife of David Fox of Barham in the said County of Kent Gentleman one other full equal
eighth part or share thereof
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Charlotte (the Wife of my said son in law Francis Tress) one other full equal eighth part or share
thereof
And I give and bequeath the remaining or other full equal eighth part or share thereof unto my Grand daughter Harriet Ades the Daughter
of my late deceased Son Robert Ades
On the marriage of my Daughter Charlotte with my son in law Francis Tress I gave him my Bond for the payment of Five hundred pounds and in justice to my said son in law and for the information of the Rest of my Children I beg to acknowledge that he long since forgave that debt and delivered up to me the Bond cancelled which I had given him for the payment of the said five hundred pounds
and my will and mind is that they my said Executors or either of them their or either of their executors or administrators shall not be chargeable with or accountable for any more of my Estate than they respectively shall actually receive nor with or for any involuntary loss which may happen of the same or any part thereof so as such loss happen without their wilful default nor one of them for the other of them or for the acts deeds receipts or disbursements of the other of them but each for his own as deed receipt or disbursement only and also that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said Executors their executors or administrators in the first place by and out of any part of my Estate and Effects to deduct and reimburse himself and themselves respectively all such losses costs charges and expences they or either of them shall sustain expend or be put unto in the execution of this my Will or in any thing relating thereto together with a suitable and proper allowance for their several journies trouble loss of time and attendances in and about the same
In Witness whereof I the said Stephen Ades the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal (to wit) my hand
to the preceding sheet and my hand and seal to this last sheet the day and year first above written _ Stephen Ades
