Item I do give forgive and release unto Richard Alchin (son of my brother Henry Alchin deceased) who
married my Daughter Mary all such sum and sums of money as he now is or at the time of my decease
shall be indebted to me for Rent or otherwise.
Item I do give forgive and release unto my Grandson Thomas Phillips all such sum and sums of money as
he now is or at the time of my decease shall be indebted to me on any account whatsoever.
Item I give and devise unto my eldest son Richard Alchin for and during the term of his natural life one
Annuity or yearly rent charge of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be issuing and payable
and had received and taken out of all that my Mill and the lands and appurt�es thereunto belonging
situate lying and being in the parish of Meopham in the said County of Kent and now in the occupation
of Richard Alchin who married my daughter Mary.
The same to be paid to my said eldest son Richard Alchin by four equal Quarterly payments on the Feast
Days of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Saint John Baptist of St Michael the Archangel
and of our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ without any deduction or abatement for taxes or
otherwise The first payment thereof to begin and to be made on such of the said Feast days as shall first
and next happen after my decease.
Item I give and devise unto my son Henry Alchin and his heirs for and during the Term of the natural Life
of my said daughter Mary Alchin one Annuity or yearly rent charge of five pounds of like lawful money
to be issuing and payable and had received and taken out of my said Mill and lands with the
appurtenances in the parish of Meopham aforesaid
The same to be paid by equal Quarterly payments on the Feast Days or days of payment aforesaid without any deduction or abatement for taxes or
otherwise and the first payment thereof to begin and to be made on such of the said Feast days as shall
first and next happen after the decease of my said eldest son Richard Alchin
And if the said respective Annuities or either of them or any part of them or either of them shall happen to be behind and unpaid by the space of fourteen days next after any of the said Feast days or days of payment on which the same respectively ought to be paid as aforesaid That then and so often it shall and may be lawful to and for my said sons Richard Alchin and Henry Alchin respectively or the heirs of the said Henry Alchin or their respective assigns whose Annuity shall be so behind and unpaid into and upon the said Mill lands and hereditaments chargeable therewith as aforesaid or into any part thereof to enter and distrain for the same respectively And the distress and distresses then and there found to take lead drive carry away impound detain and keep and also sell such distress and distresses until they shall respectively be fully paid and satisfied all such arrearages with the costs and charges in and about the making keeping and selling such distress and distresses
And in case the said Annuities or either of them or any part of them or either of them shall be behind and unpaid by the space of Twenty one days next after any of the said Feast days or days of payment whereon the same ought to be paid as aforesaid That then and so often it shall and may be lawful to and for my said sons Richard Alchin and Henry Alchin respectively or the Heirs of the said Henry Alchin or their respective Assigns whose Annuity shall be so behind and unpaid into and upon the said Mill Lands and hereditaments charges therewith as aforesaid or into any part thereof in the name of the whole to enter and the rents and profits thereof to receive and take until therewith and thereby or by the person or persons who shall be then intitled to the imediate possession of the said premises they shall be respectively fully paid and satisfied the same respective Annuities and every part thereof and all arrears incurred before and that shall incur during such time as they respectively shall receive the rents and profits thereof or be intitled to receive the same by Virtue of such Entry to be made as aforesaid together with the Costs damages and expences by them respectively laid out and sustained by reason of the nonpayment thereof or any part thereof.
Item I give and devise the said Mill Lands and Hereditaments hereinbefore mentioned to be situate lying
and being in the parish of Meopham aforesaid with the Appurtenances (Subject to the payment of the
abovesaid Annuities and to the Powers and remedies for the recovery thereof) Unto my said Daughter
Mary Alchin and her assigns for and during the term of her natural Life She keeping the same in good repair
and from and after her decease Unto my said son Henry Alchin his heirs and assigns for ever.
Item I give and devise all that my Messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell with the yard and
appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in West Malling aforesaid And also all that
my Stable and oasthouse with the yard and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being
in West Malling aforesaid and now in my own possession Unto my daughter Rachael Alchin for and
during the term of her natural life She keeping the same in good repair
And from and after her decease Unto my son Henry Alchin his heirs and assigns for ever.
Item I give and devise all that my tenement or cottage with the garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being at or near Springates Hill in the parish of East Malling in the said County of Kent and now in the occupation of my Eldest son Richard Alchin Unto him my said son Richard Alchin for and during the term of his natural Life He keeping the same in good repair And from and after his decease Unto my son Henry Alchin his heirs and assigns for ever.
Item as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my money and securities for money household goods and furniture goods chattells and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever (after and subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral Expences) I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof and all my Estate and interest therein Unto my daughter Rachael Alchin
And I do make and appoint my said daughter Rachael Alchin Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
And I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made
In Witness whereof I the said Richard Alchin the testator have to this my last Will and Testament
contained in three sheets of paper set my hand and seal (to wit) my hand to the first two sheets and my
hands and seal to this last sheet dated the day and year first above written.

This Will was proved at Rochester on the 7th day of July 1779 before the Rev�d Richard Husband Clk a Surrogate by the Oath of Rachael Allchin Spinster the daughter of the deceased and sole Executrix in the said Will named to whom was granted Administration, she having been first sworn duly to Administer.
