In the name of God Amen I John Amis of Faversham in the County of Kent Husbandman this Fifteenth day of July in the third yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord and Lady William and Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland Kinge and Queen Defenders of the Faith &c. And in the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred Ninetye and one being in p�fect health and sound memory (thanks be herefore given unto Almightye God) but not knowinge how long it may please God to Continue these Blessinges unto me doe therefore make Ordaine publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge
And first and principally I commend and committ my soule into the hands of God that gave it and my body to the Earth (from whence it came) to be decently interred att the discaeccon of my Executrix hereinafter named trusting through the Meritts of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that att the last day both body and Soule shall meete againe and Enjoy together that heavenly bliss which he by his death and passion hath purchased for me and all the elect people of God;
And as for those worldly goods which the Lord in his Mercy hath been gratiously pleased to trust me with I give and dispose the same in manner and forme followinge

Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Amys the summe of Twenty pounds of good and Lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my Executrix hereinafter named when he shall Attaine the age of One and Twenty yeares next my decease.

Item I give and Bequeath unto my other son Thomas Amis the like summe of Twenty pounds to be paid unto him by my Executrix hereinafter named when he shall Attaine the age of One and Twenty yeares next my decease.

Item I give and bequeath unto my other son Richard Amis the like summe of Twenty pounds to be paid unto him by my Executrix hereinafter named when he shall Attaine the age of One and Twenty yeares next my decease.

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Amis the like summe of Twenty pounds to be paid unto her by my Executrix hereinafter named when she shall Attaine her age of One and Twenty yeares or day of Marriage which shall first happen next my decease.

But my mind and Will is that my Executrix hereinafter named shall putt out to Interest the sev�all Legacyes now above given to the said John Amis Thomas Amis Richard Amis and Anne Amis my Children for the helpe and Mainetainance of my said Children Untill thay shall attaine their full ages of one and twenty yeares or the day of Marriage of the said Anne Amis

And further my mind and Will is that if any of the said John Amis Thomas Amis Richard Amis and Anne Amis or either of them shall happen to dye and depart this life before they shall attaine their full ages of one and twenty yeares that then he or she dyeinge leaveinge their Twenty Pounds behind him them or her shall be equally distributed and shared amongst him her or them as shall be then liveing att the distributeing and shareing of the respective summe or summes.

Item I further give and bequeath the summe of Twenty pounds of good and lawfull money of England and allsoe all my goods and Chattells and Household stuffe (in the house wherein I now dwell) and all other my p�sonall Estate whatsoever unto my Loveinge wife Anne Amis Imediately after my decease.

And I doe hereby make Nominate Ordaine and Appoint my said Wife Anne Amis full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
And soe Revokeinge all former Wills by me att any time heretofore made, I doe make publish and declare this p'sent Writeing to be my last Will and Testament.

In Witnese whereof I the said John Amis have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written John Amis

John Chapman of Egerton, innholder, bonds. [her father]
They had 7 children baptised at Faversham: Mary bt 7 May 1682 bur 8 Apr 1683, Ann bt 1 Jan 1683/4, John bt 6 Dec 1684, Thomas bt 2 Nov 1687, Elizabeth bt 10 Mar 1688/9 bur 21 Jun 1689, Richard bt 16 Jul 1690 & Henry bt 17 Oct 1692 (after this will) bur 7 Jun 1693
John Amis was buried 16 Oct 1692 and his widow Ann was buried 27 Nov 1694.
