In the name of God Amen The two and twentieth day of December in the yeare of o[u]r Lord 1614
I Nicholas Ansell of the parishe of Chartham in the Countye of Kent Yeoman beinge sicke of bodye but of good and perfect remembrannce thanks be to God therefore, I doe make this my laste will and testament in manner and forme followeinge
First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almightye God my maker and redeemer and my bodye to be buryed un the Churchyarde of Chartham

Item I doe give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my daughter fyve pounds to be payd at the end of three yeares after my decease
Item I give and bequeath to C[hr]istopher my sonn twelve pounds to be payd wtin [within] three yeares after my decease at three equal payments, the first fower pounds to be payd wthin one yeare after my decease and fower pounds wthin two yeares after my decease and fower pounds wthin three yeares after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto Stephen Ansell my sonne my house and lands wth the appurten[a]nc[e]s thereunto belonginge and to his heires for ever, payeinge my wyffe forty shillings yearely dureinge her naturall lyffe If my sonne refuses to paye to his mother the fortye shillinges yearelye duringe her naturall lyffe, then yt shalbe lawfull for her to have the lettinge and settinge of my sayd house and land duringe her naturall lyffe

Item I give to Nicholas Ansell the sonn of Stephen Ansell one ewe sheepe at the end of one yeare after my decease
Item I give unto Ann Rayner daughter to John Rayner my sonn one ewe sheepe and one lambe to be payd at the end of six yeares after my decease

Item I make Alice my wyffe myne Executor of this my laste will and testament payeing my debts and legacyes
and I make Austen Homewood myne Ovrseer of this my laste will and testament
