In the name of God Amen the eighte and twentith daie of october one thowsand sixe hundred and five
I Thomas Ashenden of Seasalter in the countie of Kente gent[leman] beinge sicke in bodie but yett of good and perfect remembrannce (thanckes bee given to almightie God) doe make and ordeine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge
first and principallie I bequeath my soule to almightie God my maker and to his sonne Jesus Christ my redeemer by whose presious death and passion I hope onelie to be saved

Item my Will and meaninge is that all such debts as I owe in Write [right] and conscience to anie p[er]sonne or personnes haveinge specialties to shewe shall bee well and truely paide owte of such goods and chattells as I shall have at the tyme of my death

Item I will that after my debts beinge paide the remaynder of all suche goods Chattells, ymplements, redie mony and other things of mine whatsoever shalbe equallie devided betwene my twoe daughters Elizabeth Ashenden and Katherin Ashenden parte and porcon a like to bee delivered to them or to either of them at their severall age of xxjty [21] yeares or daie of mariage wch shall first happen

Item I doe make my sonne Will Ashenden my sole and only executor of this my last will and testament

In Witnes whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seale the daie and yeare first above written
Sealed and delivered by the saide Thomas Ashenden as his last will and testament the daie and yeare abovesaid in the p[rese]nce of
John Flynte, Minister; Humfrey Peye

Probatum fuit: 21st February 1605/06

Note: The wife of Mr Thomas Ashenden was buried at Seasalter 22 July 1605.
