whereas I have at Sundry times advanced to and for my
Son Samuel Athawes divers considerable Sums of Money greatly exceeding what
I have done or am able to do for any of my other Children and on that Account
stands greatly indebted to me I do therefore release and forgive unto my Son
Samuel Athawes all Such Sum and Sums of Money as he doth now stand
indebted to me
And I also give unto my said Son Samuel Athawes the Sum of
Ten Pounds for Mourning and no more
Item I Give and bequeath unto my two Sons Peter Athawes and Thomas Athawes the sum of two hundred Pounds
Item I Give and devise unto my Daughter Elizabeth Athawes all that my Messuage or Tenement Farm and Lands with the Appurtenances called New Barn Situate in the Parish of Maidstone in the said County of Kent (Which I purchased of Elizabeth Gilman) together with all the Hop Poles and Stock thereon to hold the Same Messuage or Tenement Farme and Lands with the Appurtenances unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Athawes her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever to and for her and their own Proper use and benefit
And I also Give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Elizabeth the sum of three hundred pounds in Money and all my Household Goods Plate Linnen and Furniture whatsoever
Item I Give Devise and bequeath unto my Son William Athawes one Annuity or Yearly
Sum of twelve Pounds clear of all deductions and outgoings whatsoever to be
paid him by four equal Quarterly Payment on the Five and twentieth day of
March the four and twentieth day of June the Nine and Twentieth day of
September and the five and twentieth Day of December in every year during his
Life the first payment thereof to be begin and be made on Such of those days as
shall happen next after my Decease
And I also Give to my said Son William Athawes Wearing Apparel both linnen and Woollen
Item I Give and bequeath to such of the Children of my aforesaid son Samuel as Shall be living at the time of my decease the Sum of One hundred Pounds to be equally divided between them share and share alike
Item I Give and devise unto my Grandson Richard
Holloway the Small Messuage or Tenement and Garden with the appurtenances
lying contiguous and Adjoining to the Barn belonging to my now dwelling House
and now in the Occupation of Thomas Beale To hold the said Messuage or
Tenement and Premises last mentioned with the Appurtenances unto my said
Grandson Richard Holloway and the Heirs of his Body lawfully begotten
and for want of such issue then I Give and devise the said Messuage or Tenement and
Premises last mentioned with the appurtenances unto my own Right Heirs
Item I Give to my Son in Law Richard Holloway Ten Pounds for Mourning
And as touching all the rest and residue of my Real Estate not herein before given and devised And also all the rest and Residue of my Personal Estate not herein before by me otherwise disposed of I do hereby Charge the same with the payment of all my just Debts and the Several Pecuniary Legacies and Annuity given by this my Will and (Subject to and charged and chargeable therewith) I Give Devise and bequeath all the Rest and Residue of my Real Estate and also all the aforesaid Rest and Residue of my Personal Estate unto my Eldest Son Edward Athawes and to his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever to and for his and their own proper use and benefit
and I declare my Will to be that all the aforesaid Pecuniary Legacies Given by this my Will (Except those for Mourning) be paid within Twelve Months next after my Decease and that Interest be answered and paid for the same in the mean time at the Rate of three Pounds Percentage Per Annum
and I constitute and Appoint my said Son Edward Athawes Sole Executor of this my Will hereby revoking and making Void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Ninth day of July in the Year of our
