In the Name of God Amen I John Atherfold of the Parish of Seale in the County of Kent Butcher do make constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form as follows that is to say
First I commend my Soul to God who gave it hoping through the Merits of Christ for a gracious Reception and my Body to the Earth to be interred decently at the discretion of my Executrix herein afterwards named and appointed and for such worldly Goods as Providence has endowed me withal (I being of a Sound Mind and Perfect Memory) do give and bequeath as follows

Imprimis to my eldest Daughter Mary I give the Sum of one Pound one Shilling
Item to my Daughter Sarah the Sum of one Pound one Shilling
Item to my Daughter Ann the Sum of one Pound one Shilling
Item to my Daughter Hannah the Sum of one Pound one Shilling
Item to my Daughter Elizabeth the Sum of one Pound one Shilling

Likewise to my eldest Son John the Sum of one Pound one Shilling
Item I give to my Son James the Sum of forty Pounds
likewise to my Son Thomas the Sum of forty Pounds
and I will and appoint that these several bequests be paid by my Executrix on or before a Year and one day after my decease to such of my said Children as be then arrived at the age of twenty one Years and to such as shall not be come to the said Age to be paid on or upon the Day they shall come to the aforesaid Age of twenty one Years respectively

I do hereby give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Ann all that my Messuage Tenement or dwelling House Slaughter House Barn or Hop Kilns Yard with all and every the Appurtenances belonging thereunto situate in the Town of Seale aforesaid for and during her natural Life

and after her death I give the same to my three Sons John James and Thomas or such of them that be then living Share and Share alike to them and their Heirs for ever

I likewise give to my loving Wife Ann all my ready Money Book Debts Stock in trade of what kind soever Bonds Notes Household Goods wearing Apparel and Property whatsoever (except as above bequeathed) together with the term of the Lease of the House in which I now dwell and the Lands appertaining that shall be to come and unexpired at the time of my decease

and I hereby constitute and appoint my said Wife sole Executrix of this my Will and Testament whom I charge with the Payment of the above mentioned Legacies just Debts and funeral Expences
Lastly I do hereby revoke and make void all former or other Wills by me at any time made and do declare this present Writing contained in this one Sheet of Paper to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this eleventh day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty one John Atherfold
