In the name of God Amen the ixth [9th] daye of July in the yere of oure lord God ccccc xxviijti [1528]
I Robert Awesten of the p[a]rish of Adesham beyng of good remembraunce make and ordayn this my p[re]sent Testament and last will in man[ne]r and forme folowyng
First I bequeth my Soule to Allmyghty God, to our blessed ladie Saynt Marie and to all the holy company of hevyn, my body to be buried in the p[a]rish Churchyard of Adysham aforesaid

Item I bequith to the high Awtur [Altar] ther(e)for my tythes and oblacons neclygently forgoten or w[i]tholden xijd [12d]
Item I bequeth to the making of the Roode lofte in the said Church of Adyshm xxs [20s]
Item I bequeth to the observannt Fryers of Cannterbury to praye for my soule and all Xpen [Christian] soules, half a seame of barley
Item I bequeth to ev[e]ry one of my godchildren a bushell of barley

Item I bequeth to Barbora my wyffe my messuage and all the land p[er]taynyng to the same messuage as it appe[a]rith by a deede by Robert Awsten my Father more playnly apperith

Item I bequeth to Barbora my wyffe v marks of laufull mony of England and all the goods and Stuffe that the she brought wth her unto me by Reason of her father or Any other of her kersines [cousins], to be delivered to her wtin xij monthes after my decease

The residue of all my goods and Catalls not bequethed wher? so ever they be, I will it shall remayne to Stephen my Son
And yf case be that Barbara my wyffe be wt [with] chylde wt a man childe, then I will that the said my goods and Cattalls be devyded betwen them both in lyke porcon
And case be that ther be no chyld but a mayden then I will thet she have the thyrde parte of all the goods and Cattales wt her brother Stephen

Item I will that Robert Awsten my father have the kepyng of Stephen my sonne and the other chylde yf my wyffe Barbora have any more when they come to age of ij yerys And also the Resydue of my goods and cattalls not bequethed, to the use of Stephyn my said sonne and the other childe as ys afore rehersed and expressed

And yf it fortune that Stephyn my Sonne and the other chyld yf Any be deceased wtin the age of xx yeres that then I will that the said Robert my father dispose my goods at his discreton for the helth of my soule
Whome I make and ordeyn myne Executors the fors[ai]d Robert my father and Barbara Awsten my wyffe
