I Laurence Baker of hole mynde and good memorye make this my testamente conteynyng my last will in this manr folowyng [manner following]
Fyrst I bequeythe [bequeath] my soule unto allmyghti God my creator to oure bessyde ladye and to all the holye c-mpenye of hevyn [holy company of heaven] my bodye to be buryed yn the churcheyard of oure blessede ladye at Chilham

Also I bequeyth to the hygh ault [high alter] of Chilham xxijd
Item I bequeth unto the herslyght yn the sayd churche iiijd

Also I will that my Son John have unto hym and his assygnes [assigns] two acres of lande that I bought of Willm. Pole called Wesborn lyeng wytheyn [within] the pish [parish] of Lenham

The residue of all my goods and debts before not bequeythed I give and bequeyth unto my son John whiche John I ordeyine [ordain] and make myne executor that he dispose theryn [therein] for the helthe [health] of my Soule and his discharge

Parish registers commence in Chilham in 1558 � some 30 years after the date of this Will.
