In the name of God Amen the second day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lorde God a thousand fyve hundrethe three score and fyve
I John Baker being sycke in body Butt thankes be to God of god and parfett [perfect] memorydothe make this my last wyll and Testamente as in maner and forme followinge
Fyrst I bequeth my sowle to Almyghty God to take me to his mercy and grace And my body to be buryed in the churche yarde of Whitstable besydes my mother

Item I will & bequethe to the poore mens Box two shillinges
Item I will to my Syster Margarett tenne ewes & one kowe & my howse at Bullenge [Beltinge?] wth the appertenns [with the appurtenances] and fyve akers [acres] of Lande thereto belonging called Pynendens

Item I will to my Brother Rychard Port fower seames* of Barley and syx Busshells*
* seame and bushel are measures of grain � e.g. wheat, barley, oats, rye.
Item I will to my Brother Porte my Lambes to his wyeff [wife]
Item I will to my Brother Rychard Port the mille of any Ewes tyll Mychelmas [Michaelmas]

Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linnes thirteene ewes & the wooll of them att the next shearinge
Item I will to Brother Porte spanne? aker and as many other as will save yt (?)
Item I will to John Swanton Wyllyan Swantons sonne one ewe
Item I will to Rychard Tomson one ewe

Item I will to my Brother Rychard Porte one pece of Lande called Churche fylde [field]
Item I will to Margery Nottinge Wydowe one ewe to be delyvered at mychelmas (sic)
Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linnes harre Selherst fyld tyll mychelmas (sic)
Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linnes the filde att Oldipam hill till mychelmas (sic)
Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linnes one pece of wheate redy sowne
Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linnes one pece of Lande called Long Aker till mychelmas (sic)
Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linnes my lytle [little] marshe to hym and his heyres

And if it fortune the said Thomas to dye wthowte [without] yssue of his Boydte lawfully begotten That then I wyll yt shall remayne to my Brother Rychard Porte and to his heyres and two acres of Lande called Chilpins

Item I will to Alice Porte and Nicholas Porte my cosens to eche [each] of them one ewe
Item I will to my Brother Richard Porte thyrtene [thirteen] dry sheepe wth two that Barnard hathe
Item I will my syex [six] wethers to be solde and the mony of them to be distributed to the poore folke att his buryall and the halfe yeares rente also

Item I will to my Brother Thomas Linne all my movabelles unbequethed savyinge my mony And the said Thomas to help John Pynall to plowe his lande And the said Thomas to take the halfe of the ottes [oats] when God send them

Item I will to Thomas Linne syx and twenty shillings & eight pence to receave for a payer of carte whellis [wheels] of Nicholas Whittar
Item I will my Brother Thomas Linne to be my Executor And my Brother Rhycard Port to be myne Overseer
Item I will to Edward Oxenbrege [Oxenbridge] for his paynes a iijs iiijd
Item I will the distribution of mony Bequethed unto the discretion of myne Executor & myne Overseer

John�s Sister, Margaret Baker, married Richard Porte 17th September 1558 at All Saints, Whitstable.
