In the name of God Amen the xjth daye of June in the yeere of our Lord God 1610
I Thomas Baker of the parrishe of Selling in the County of Kent Bachelor being sicke in bodye but of good and p�fect [perfect] remembrance, prayse and thankes bee geven to allmightie God make and ordeyne this my last will and testamt [testament] in forme and manner following, That is to say
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Christe Jesus my Saviour and redeemer and my Body to be buried in the parishe churchyard of Selling aforesayd

Iem I give to George Baker my father and also to Elizabeth my Mother the some of eight pounds of lawfull English money to be payde by my Executors in and uppon the fourthe daye of St. Michaell the archangell next ensuing after my decease

Item I give to my Brother John Baker the some of xls [40 shillings] wch [which] he oweth mee And a calfe of mine that he hath in his keeping And also my second sute of apparell that is my dublet and breeches

Item I give to my Brother in lawe Solomon Wilson and to my Sister Bethulia his wife tenne shillings a peece more to be payed unto them at our Lady daye next after my decease by my executors
Item I give to my Cosen George Wilson their sonne foure sheepe wch are in the hands of his father Solomon Wilson

Item I give to Deborah Baker my Sister the some of iiijl [�4] to be payd unto her in and uppon the feaste daye of St. John (the) Baptist next ensuing after my decease by my executors
Item I give to my Sister Thomasine Baker the some of iijl [�3] of lawfull money to be payd unto her when she shall accomplishe the age of xxij yeeres likewise to be payd by my Executors and eight shillings that shee oweth mee

Item I give to my Sister Marie (Mary) Baker the sume of fiftye shillings of lawfull mony to be payd unto her when shee shall accomplishe the age of xxiijth yeeres and a newe chest
And if it happen any of my Sisters aforesayd to dye before theire legacie bee due then it is my will that when as their legacies be equally devided amongst the rest of her other Sisters And also my father and mother to have heires equall pte. [part] of them

Item I give to my goddaughter Elizabeth Baker fifty shillings of lawfull English money to bee payd when shee shall accomplishe the age of eight yeeres likewise by my Executors

Item I give unto my Brother Christopher Baker a cowe wch is in the keeping of my Brother John Baker
Item I give unto my Brother Nicholas Baker xxxs [30 shillings] of lawfull Englishe money to be payd unto him the nexte midsomer after my decease by my Executors and my best sute of apparrell

Item I give to my Sister (in law) Mary the wife of my Brother Christopher Baker one ioyne [joined] bedstedle wch is in their keeping and a peece of goulde of xs [10 shillings] Also I give unto her my bees standing at her house letting my Sister Bethulia the wife of Solomon Wilson have her share for one frame of all her frames the next yeere after my decease

Item I give to my Sister Joane Elsted a feather bed and also a bolster
and to my Brother (in law) Davie Elsted foure sheepe and one lambe wch goeth wth them
Item I give more to my Brother Davye Elsted eight lambes paying xxs for them

Item I give to the poore of the parrishe of Selling five shillings to be geven at my buriall at the discretion of my executors
Item I give to Dennis Hills tenne shillings
Item I give to John Turke my godsonne tenne shillings
Item I give to them that beare me to ye church, to ye ringers vs
Item I give more to my Brother John Baker tenne shillings

And of this my last will and testament I make and ordeyne Edward Maxted of Selling and my Brother Davie Elsted my executors paying and dischardging my debtes legacies and funerall expences
And all other wills and testamentes I revoke and disannull
And I do ordeyne my father George Baker my Overseer of this my last will and testament and I give him for his paynes tenne shillings

In Witnes to this my Last Will and Testament I have sett my hand and delivered it in the p�sence [presence] of these whose names are under written the day and yere above written

Notes:
Thomas Baker was buried at St. Mary the Virgin, Selling on 24th July 1610, aged 33 years.
George Baker married Elizabeth Reynolde 25th November 1568 at Selling.
Their children: John Baker 24 Dec 1569 at St. James, Sheldwich.
The remainder were all christened at St. Mary, Selling, thus:
Joana 21 Mar 1573; Christopher 28 Sep 1575; Thomas 26 Feb 1577; Bethethelwa [Bethulia] 18 Dec 1580; Nicholas 23 Dec 1582; Deborah 12 Feb 1584; Alce 18 Feb 1587 (Bu: 16 Mar 1587); Mary 20 Aug 1593.
Note: Sister Thomasine Baker�s christening has not been found.
Bethulia Baker married Sollomon Wilson 22nd May 1606 at SS Peter & Paul, Boughton-under-Blean.
Joan Baker married Davie Elstone (Elsted) on 24th May 1596 at Selling.
