In the name of God Amen the Sixe and twentieth day of November In the yeare of our Lord God 1622 And in the twentieth yeare of the reign of our Sovereigne Lord James by the grace of God of England, Frannce and Ireland King defender of the Faith etc. And of Scotland the sixe and Fiftieth
I Jonas Baker of the parrish of Preston next Faversham in the Countie of Kent Yeoman, being stricken in yeares and weake and sicke in Body, but yet of this time, being of good and perfect memory and understanding, Thanks be given unto Almightie God, doe heere mke and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I comend my Soule into the handes of Almightie God my maker and assuredly hoping through the merritts of Jesus Christ my mercifull Saviour and Redeemer to be made partaker of life everlasting And I comend my Body to the earth whereof it was made, and to be buried in the Churchyard of the parrish of Preston aforesaid in an assured and certain hope of a joyfull resurrection wth [with] ye Blessed at ye last day

Item I will give and bequeath unto my sonne William Baker and to his heries for ever my Landes wthall [with all] the proffitts thereunto belonging, lying and being in the parrishes of Borden and Newington neere Sittingbourne in the Countie of Kent aforesaid
As also I will give and bequeath unto my said sonne William my Great brasse pott, wch [which] was my Fathers, And my large Bill in Sales, to be delivered unto him by my Executrix

Item I will give and bequeath unto my daughter Joane Baker xijd of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executrix As alsoe my Will is that my Executrix shall keepe and maintaine my said daughter Joane finding and allowing unto her meate, drinke, apparell wth the like care, as hitherto I have done, except it shall please God to inable her wth Health soe that shee shalbe fit for to go abroad to service, or shall marry

Item I will give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Ardymer ten ewes and a Bullocke of two yeares old to be delivered unto her by my Executrix at Michaelmas next after my decease

Item I will give and bequeath unto my daughter Hester Baker xijd of lawfull money of England to be payd unto her by my Executrix comitting the further care over her unto the care of my Executrix who I doubt not but she will deale like a good & naturall mother wth her

Item I will give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be put forth or imployed to the best advantage and proffit that lawfully may be by my Executrix untill my said daughter Anne shall come and attaine unto the full age of eighteene yeeres And then the said Five poundes together wth the proffits soe made of it to be payd unto her by my executrix

Item I will give and bequeath unto my daughter Ellen Baker five poundes of Lawfull moey of Engand to be to be put forth or imployed to the best advantage and proffit that lawfully may be by my Executrix untill my said daughter Ellen shall come and attaine unto the full age of eighteene yeeres And then the said Five poundes together wth the proffits soe made of it to be payd unto her by my executrix

As for all the rest of my Goodes, Chattells and Cattell, money, plate, household stuff, moveables or whatsoever els [else] is mine in this present world (my Funerall expences, debts and Legacies discharged and paid), I will give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Sara Baker whom I make, appointe and ordeine sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament, renouncing an revoking all other wills whatsoever heretofore made by me at any time

In Witnes whereof have hereunto this my Last will and testament set my hand and seale the day and yeare of the date hereof first above written, the marke of me the said

Notes:
Jonas Baker was buried at St. Catherine, Preston-next Faversham on 12th November 1623.
His christening has not, at present, been found in Kent.
Jonas Baker appears to have married at least 3 times:
Jonas Baker married Ellin Edwards 18 Jul 1583 at St. Mary the Virgin, Newington-next�Sittingbourne.
Jonas Baker also married Ann Meriam 26 Mar 1594 at Whychling (he Yeoman of Faversham; She: Widow of Lenham) � Anne was buried at Preston-next-Faversham on 29th June 1596);
and on 23 Feb 1597 Jonas Baker and Sara Spark, both of Faversham, married at Holy Cross, Canterbury. The known children (christened at various locations, as given):
6 Oct 1583 John (at Newington-next-Sittingbourne); daughter Ellen born sometime between 1583 and 1593?; 8 Sep 1593 William; 7 Sep 1595 Johan (Bu: 20 Nov 1595); 12 Feb 1597 Johan; 30 Dec 1599 Mary; 5 Apr 1602 Jonas; 29 May 1603 Thomasin; 20 Sep 1608 Hester; 17 Jan 1612 Anne (all at Preston-next-Faversham).
A Jonas Baker was buried in 1593 at Preston-next-Faversham (No exact date).
Daughter Mary Baker married at Preston-next-Faversham to Nicolas Ardymer on 28th Sep 1619.
