In the name of God Amen I John Baker of the p[ar]ish of Saltwood being very sick and weake in bodey but of good and perfit memory praysed be God doe mak[e] and ordaine this my last will & testament in maner and forme following
First I bequeath my Soule to God my maker hoping to be saved by the merrits of Jesus Christ and my bodey to be buried in the Churchyard of Saltwood according to the order of Christian buryall

First I give and bequeath unto my Brother Henry Baker the Sum of five pounds of lawful money
and after his decease to William Baker the sunn of him my Brother [Henry] Baker afforesaid for ever to be paid unto him within a twelvemonthe after my decease and the decease of Susan my now wife

Alsoe I give unto Richard Kitchin & Thomas Kitchin twelve pence a peece to be paid within twelvemonths affter my decease
Alsoe I give and bequeath unto Elizabth Figg my Sisters daughter Elizabeth Figg, the Sum of five pounds to be paid within twelvemoneths after my decease and the decease of my wife

Alsoe I give and bequeath unto ___ the daughter of Thomas Scourge of the Towne and Port of Hyth(e) the Sum of five pounds to be paid within twelve mounthes after my decease and the deceasse of my now wife
Alsoe I give unto John Baker the sonn of Edward Baker my very good friend the sum of fourtey shillings to be paid within twelvemoneths after my decease and the decease of my now wife

Allsoe I give unto my Brother John Rose all the rest of my goods and Chattels after my decease he allowing unto my now wife the Sume of five pounds by the yeare dureing her naturall life and after her decease to Returne and Remaine unto him the said John Rose and his heires for ever

Lastly I make and ordaine my said Brother John Rose the executor of this my laste will and testament Revokeing all and any former will or testament by me formerly made whatsoever

Probatum fuit: 23rd May 1668. Inventory taken.

John Baker married Susanna Rose 5 Dec 1659 at St. Stephen, Lympne with West Hythe, Kent.
