Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Susanna All those my seaven Messuages or Tenements with the backsides thereunto belonging And all other the premises with their and every of their appurtencs [appurtenances] to the same belonging, one of the said Messuages or Tenements with the backsides and lands thereto belonging is scituate lyeing and being in the parishe of Ospringe in the said County of Kent and now or late in the tenure or occupacon of William Macroro or his assignes
one other of the said Messuages or Tenements with the backsides and lands thereto belonging is scituate lyeing and being in the parish of Buckland (next Faversham) in the Couny aforesaid and now or late in the tenure or occupacon of John Oakenfield or of his assignes
And the other five Messuages or Tenements and backsides to the same belonging with thappurtencs [the appurtenances] are scituate lyeing and being within the towne and liberty of Faversham aforesaid in a certain street there called West Street one wereof is now or late in the tenure or occupacon of John Hunt Junior or of his assignes; one other in the occupacon of Susanna Green Widdow or of her assignes And one other in the occupacon of John Hadaway or of his assignes One other in the occupacon or tenure of John Dedman or of his assigns And the other in the occupacon of Edward Plumer or of his assignes
To hold the said Seaven Messuages or Tenements with the lands and appurtencs (sic) to the same
belonging unto Susanna my said wife for and dureing the whole time and tearme of her naturall life and noe longer
And my further will and minde is That when it shall happen that my said Wife shall depart
tis life Then the said Seaven Messuages or Tenements with thapputencs (sic) before by me bequeathed
shall goe and come and be distributed in manner and forme following (that is to say)
The Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances in Ospringe aforesaid The Two Messuages or Tenements with thapputens (sic) in West Street aforesaid one in the occupacon of John Dedman and the other of Edward Plumer shall come and goe to my loveing Brothers? Daughter Thomsin Sharpe and to the issue of the body lawfully to be begotten And for default of such issue Then I will and bequeath the same amongst my other Surviving Children
The Two other Messuages or Tenements with thappurtencs (sic) in West Street aforesaid the one in the occupacon of Susanna Green Widdow and the other of John Hunt junior shall come and goe unto my loveing Daughter Zutphania Burges and to the issue of her body lawfully to be begotten And for default of such her issue Then the same to goe and come amongst my other surviving children
The one other Messuage or Tenement in West Street aforesaid in the occpacon of John Hadaway and the other in Buckland in the occupacon of John Oakenfield shall come and goe unto my loveing Daughter Annah Baker and to the issue of her body lawfully to be begotten and for default of such issue then the same to goe and come amongst my other surviving children
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Annah Baker the sume of four score pounds of lawfull
Money of England to be paid to her by my Executrix hereinafter named within three yeares next after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Annah the bed with thappurtencs (sic) in the best
Chambre In the house wherein I now dwell standing and also one case of drawers in the said chambre there also standing
Item I give and bequeath unto my four Grandchildren (To wit) Susanna Fowler John Fowler Mary Sharpe and Zutphania Burges daughter of my said Daughter Zutphania the summe of Tenne pounds a peice to be paid to them and either of them within five yeares next after my decease by my Executrix hereinafter named
And further my will and meaning is that if all or any of my said Grandchildren shall not be of age when their legacies shall be paid that then the person or persons receiving their said legacies or legacy as Trustee or Trustees for them shall give sufficient Security to my said Grandchildren and either of them for the same
Item I give and bequeath unto the poore of the town and liberty of Faversham aforesaid the summe of three pounds of lawfull money of England to be distributed to them in Bread within the monthes next aftr my decease by my Executor hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto Susanna my said wife all the rest of my goods and chattells whatsoever and all my household goods and Implements of house keeping before by me not bequeathed
And my will and meaninge further is that after my debts legacies and funerall Expenses first paid and discharged out of my Stock and Timber in the yard That then if there shall be any Overplus thereof and any monies thereof remaining I will and bequeath the same amongst my said Children and the Survivors of them equally to be distributed by my Executrix hereinafter named
Item I do hereby make and ordaine my said Wife Susanna my Sole and only Executrix of this my last will and Testament And I doe hereby revoke all former wills by me heretofore made And doe publish and declare this present writeing to be the last will and Testament of me the said John Baker

John Baker was christened 17th April 1625, s. of Francis and Elizabeth Baker at Faversham, one of 7
children (2 of whom died as infants � including a previous son John).
John Baker married Susan Cooke (nee Holman) 19th June 1645 at St. Catherine of Alexandria, Preston-
next-Faversham. He was about 30, Ba., Carpenter;
She was the widow of Henry Cooke (who she had married 19th April 1640 at Faversham), and both were of Faversham.
Henry Cooke was buried at Faversham on 19th November 1641.
Susan Homan had been christened at Faversham on 11th January 1617, d. of Henrie and Bennett.
