I John Baker of the parish of Alkham in the County of Kent Cordwayner being sick and weake in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be God therefore doe make and ordeine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my Soule to God who gave it and my body I comend to the earth whereof it is made to be decently interred att the discretion of my Executor hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Baker and to his heires for ever my Tenement with the ground and appertences [appurtenances] thereunto belonging scituate lying and being in Alkham Streete neare the Vicaridge [Vicarage] there

Item I given and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Elizabeth my two tenements and garden and apputencs (sic) thereunto belonging adjoining to the Smiths forge in Alkham Streete aforesaid to have and to hold unto my said Wife for and during the terme of her natuarall life
and after her decease I give and bequeath one of the two tenements and halfe the garden with the apptences (sic) unto my daughter Elizabeth Baker for and dureing the terme of her naturall life and after her decease I give and bequeath the same unto my sonne John Baker and his heires for ever.
And the other one of the two messuages and halfe garden aforesaid with the appurtences (sic) last mentioned I give and bequeath unto my said sonne John Baker and to his heires for ever

Item I give and bequeath unto my said sonn John Baker and to his heires for ever one acres of arable land lying and being in South Alkham field now in my own occupacon

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Wife Elizabeth and to my said sonn John Baker and to my said Daughter Elizabeth Baker all and every my household stuffe now remaineing and being in my now dwelling to bee equally parted and divided betweene them

All the rest and residue of my goods chells [chattells] cattle and other my goods and personall Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unbequeathed after my debts and funerall expences and probate of this my will are first paid and discharged I give and bequueath unto my said sonne John Baker whome I make ordaine and appointe to be full and sole Executor of this my last will and testament and even so I constitute the same hereby revoaking all former wills by me heretofore made

In Witnes whereof I the said John Baker have hereunto set my hand and Seale this second day of February Anno Dini 1691 and in the third yeare of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lord and Lady King William and Queene Mary over England etc. John Baker

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John Baker to be his last will and testament in the presence of us

Probatum fuit: Vicesimo septimo (27th) dei Feb. 1691.

Notes:
John Baker was buried on 6th February 1691(2) at St. Anthony of Pamiers, Alkham.
Widow Elizabeth Baker was buried there on 12th September 1703.
John Baker had married Elizabeth Collard 18th February 1660 at Alkham.
Their known children:
John Baker was christened 11th October 1663 at SS Mary & Eanswith, Folkestone, to John and Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Baker was christened 25th September 1672 at Alkham.
