In the Name of God Amen March the second day 1701
I William Baker of the pish [parish] of Sturry in the County of Kent Yeoman being very old & weake in Body in the time of this sickness But of a p�fect [perfect] mind & memory, thanks be given to Allmighty God therefore, calling to mind the mortality of my Body & knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordaine this my Last will & Testament, that is to say
Principally & first of all I give & recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it And my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian buriall at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the generall resurrection I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God
And touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the Following manner and forme

Imprimis I Give and bequeath unto William Allen five pounds
Item I give unto my daughter Katherine one shilling
Item I give unto my Son Nicholas five pounds
Item I give unto my Son John five pounds

Iem I give unto my Son William whome I likewise constitute make & ordaine my Sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament my House Land & all the rest of my goods by him freely to be possessed & enjoyed
desireing him to give unto each of the poor widowes on Broadoak Green one six penny loaf at my Funerall
& to my Sons & daughters each of them a paire of gloves

And I doe hereby disallow revoke and disannull all other Testaments wills Legacies & requests & Executor by me in any wayes before named
And if the said William Baker die without heires therefore att sealing & confirming this & noe other to be my Last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale the day and year above said
William Baker his marke

Signed Sealed published pronounced & declared by the said William Baker as his Last Wil & Testament in the prsence [presence] of us Subscribers

Probatum fuit: decimo nono [19th] dei May Anno dini 1705

Notes: William Baker was buried on 13th April 1701 at St. Nicholas, Sturry.
