In the name of God Amen I Robert Baker of the Towne of Folkstone in the County of Kent Yeoman, being in good health of body and of sound and perfect mind & memory, praised be Almighty God for the same, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
Impri[mi]s I resigne my soule into the hands of Almighty God my mercifull Creator hoping for salvation only by the merits of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and my body I committ to the earth to be decently buryes at the discretion of my Executrix & Executor here after named as they shall thinke most fitt and convenient And as for touching such worldly estate as the Lord in mercy hath lent me, my will and meaning is the same shall be imployed and bestowed as here after in this my will is expressed

Item I give & bequeath unto my loving sonn Thomas Baker all those my teame of Cattle (that is to say) my working herfes [heifers] al[ia]s mares & other horses als mares which at the time of my decease I shall have with the waggon Courts [Carts] plow harrows waggon harness and plow harness of all sorts and all other my husbandry tooles for uses in doing of husbandry with of imploym[en]ts whatsoever

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving sonne Richard Baker the sume of Tenn pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto him by my said son Thomas Baker five pounds part thereof within twelve months next after my decease and five pounds residue thereof within two yeares next after my decease if he be living at the times of paym[en]ts
Item I give & bequeath unto my loving sonn Henry Baker the sume of Tenn pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto him by my said son Thomas Baker five pounds part thereof within twelve months next after my decease and five pounds residue thereof within two yeares next after my decease if he be living at the times of payments

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Elizabeth the wife of John Basden the sume of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to her by my said sonn Thomas Baker Tenn pounds p[ar]t thereof within twelve months next after my decease, and ten pounds residue thereof wthin two years next after my decease
Item I give & bequeath unto my loving daughter Mary the wife of Thomas Penny the sume of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to her by my said sonn Tho : Baker Tenn pounds pt thereof within twelve months next after my decease, and ten pounds residue thereof wthin two years next after my decease
Item I give & bequeath unto my loving daughter Sarah Baker the sume of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to her by my said sonn Tho : Baker when she shall accomplish her full age of one & twenty yeares Item I further give & bequeath unto my sonne Tho : Baker my brewing vessells & all my Caske & all things thereunto belonging as utensills
Item all the rest and residue of my goods and chattells whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary & my sonne Thomas Baker to be equally divided between them, they paying my debts funerall expences & proving of this my will equally between them, whom I do hereby make and ordain full & sole Executrix & executor of this my last will & Testament joyntly
And I do hereby revoke and make void all & every other former wills heretofore by me made

This is the last will and Testament of me the said Robert Baker made and declared the day of the date hereof touching and concerning all and singuler my Messuages or Tenements lands & premisses with all and singuler their appurtenances scituate lying and being in Folkestone aforesdaid or else where

I do give and bequeath the now brewhouse and stables & the waggonhorses to my said sonne Thomas Baker imediatly after my decease,
and the dwelling als houses with the two small stables and garden to my said wife during the terme of her natural life she keeping the same in good tenantable repair
& imediatly after her decease I give the smae and every part thereof unto my said sonne Thomas Baker to him and his heires forever
he paying unto his said mother my wife Mary the sume of Three pounds of lawfull money of England by quarterly payments (of) fifteen shillings every three months next after my decease during the terme of her naturall life
and now my mind is at rest waiting with patience untill it shall please God to call me out of this troublesome life

In witness whereof to this my present will and Testament my hand & seale have sett this eight and twentieth day of June in the fifth year of the raigne of our Sovraigne Lady Anne by the grace of God of England Scotland France & Ireland Queen defender of the faith &c. Annoq dini 1706

Stephen Gibson; Mary Gibson; V: Gibson

Probatum fuit: 11th October 1706. Inventory taken.

Robert Baker, Inn-holder, was buried at SS Mary & Eanswith, Folkestone on 17 Sep 1706.
Robert Baker married Mary Chapman 27 Jun 1667 at SS Mary & Eanswith, Folkestone.
Daughter Elizabeth Baker married John Baseden 31 May 1696 at St. James, Dover.
Daughter Mary Baker married Thomas Penny at SS Mary & Eanswith on 23 Aug 1698.
