In the name of God Amen
I Henry Baker of the parish of Leaveland in the County of Kent, Labourer, being Sick and Weak in Body but of Sound and Perfect mind and memory, praised be Almighty God therefore, do make publish and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
First and principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God in sincere hopes of attaining Eternal Life after death in and through the merits and mediation of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my Body I commit to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently interred in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named
And as for my Worldly Estate which God in his infinite goodness and mercy hath been Pleased to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say)

Item I give devise and bequeath all that my small messuage or Tenement with all the buildings Close & Backsides garden orchard Lands and Hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging Situate lying and being in the Parish of Throwley in the said County of Kent and now in the Tenure or Occupation of my Brother John Baker unto my said Brother John Baker for and during the Term of his natural Life
and from and after his decease I give devise and bequeath the said messuage or Tenement Lands and premisses with the appurtens. [appurtenances] unto my Nephew Thomas Baker of Baddlesmere in the said County Yeoman for and during the term of his natural Life
and from and after his decease I give devise and bequeath the said Messuage or Tenement Lands and Premisses and every part thereof with the appurtenances unto John Baker, son of the said Thomas Baker to have and to hold the said Messuage Tenement Lands and Premisses with the appurtenances unto the said John Baker son the said Thomas Baker (and) my Bed Table and Chest now in his Fathers Posession

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Brother John Baker one shilling
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the wife of William Smith of Throwley aforesaid Labourer the sume of five shillings and to her two Children one shilling a peece

All the rest and residue of all my Goods Chattells and Personal Estate I give and bequeath unto my said Nephew Thomas Baker and (I) do hereby make nominate and appoint him the said Thomas Baker full and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament revoking all former wills and Testaments

In Witness whereof I the said Henry Baker the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament sett my hand and Seal this First day of January in the third Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George over Great Britain & Anno Dini 1716

Notes:
Henry Baker was buried at St. Lawrence, Leaveland on 16th January 1716.
Anne Baker was buried at Leaveland on 22nd April 1694, wife of Henry Baker.
His daughter Mary was christened 15th March 1693 at Leaveland, d. of Henry and Anne Baker.
Henry Baker, 40, Bachelor of Leaveland married Ann Allen, 30, Spinster of Throwley at St. Alphage Canterbury on 15th October 1692; giving a birth date for Henry right in the middle of the Commonwealth � and this not found.
Daughter Mary Baker married William Smith 28th December 1713 at St. Margaret, Canterbury. Both were of Throwley.
