First I give and devise All that my Messuage or Tenement and the Blacksmith�s Shop and Garden thereunto belonging with the Appurtenances situate in the said parish of Monkton and now in the Occupation of my Nephew Josias Adams unto and to the use of my Niece Elizabeth Baker her Heirs and Assigns for ever
I Give and Devise all that my Messuage or Tenement and the Garden thereto belonging with the Appurtenances situate in the said parish of Monkton and now in the Occupation of John Chapman And also that piece or parcel of Arable Land containing by Estimation One Acre and a half little more or less with the Appurtenances situate in the parish of Minster in the said Isle of Thanet and County of Kent and now in my own Occupation Unto and to the use of my Niece Mary the wife of William Leslie her Heirs and Assigns for ever
I Give and Devise All that my piece or parcel of Land containing by Estimation half an Acre little more or less with the Appurtenances situate in the said parish of Monkton and now in my own Occupation unto my said Nephew Josiah Adams his Heirs and Assigns for ever
I Give and Bequeath unto my Sister Ann Adams of Margate in the said Isle of Thanet Widow the Sum of
fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain
to my Niece Elizabeth Baker the sum of One Hundred pounds of like lawful money
to my Nephew William Adams of Margate Painter the Sum of Thirty pounds of like money
and to my Nephew George Adams of Margate Carpenter the Sum of Thirty pounds of like money
Which several Legacies I do hereby direct shall be paid to the Legatees thereof respectively within twelve Calendar Months after my decease
I Give and Bequeath all such Household Furniture Plate Linen China and Implements of Household as shall be in and about my Dwelling House at the time of my Decease unto my Niece Mary Adams her Executors and Administrators for her and their own Use and Behoof
I Give and Bequeath my Wearing Apparel of every Kind to my late servant John Twyman to be delivered to him as soon as conveniently may be after my decease
And as for all the Residue of my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever And also as for all the Residue of all my Monies Securities for Money Effects Goods and Personal Estate whatsoever after and subject to the payment of my Just Debts and Funeral Charges I Give Devise and Bequeath the same respectively unto my said two Nieces Elizabeth Baker and Mary Leslie equally to be divided between them and to their Heirs Executors and Assigns respectively
And I do appoint my said Nephews Josiah Adams and William Adams Executors of this my Will
And my Will is that it shall be lawful for my said Executors and their respective Executors and Administrators
to deduct retain to and reimburse themselves respectively all such Costs Charges Damages and Expences
as they respectively shall sustain or be put unto in or about the Execution of this my Will
And that they my said Executors ad their respective Executors and Administrators shall not be Answerable or Accountable for any more Money than they shall actually receive their joining in Receipts for Conformity notwithstanding nor with or for any loss which may happen in the Execution of the Trusts hereby in them reposed without their respective wilful defaults nor the one for the other of them or for the Heirs Executors or Administrators Acts Deeds or Defaults of the other of them but each for himself and his own Heirs Executors Administrators Acts Deeds and Defaults only
And lastly I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made
In Witness whereof I the said Richard Baker the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty
sixth day of January in the fifty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the third And

The before registered Will of Richard Baker deceased was proved the Sixth day of June 1812 before the Reverend John Francis, Clerk, Surrogate to the Right Honoble [Honourable] Sir William Scott Knight Docotor of Laws Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Josiah Adams and William Adams (the Nephews) the Executors named in the said Will They being first sworn, etc.
Notes: Richard Baker was buried at St. Mary Magdalene, Monkton on 25th May 1812.
