In the name of God Amen the first day of May Ano Domini 1626 and in the second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the faith etc,
I John Bance of Bearsted in the County of Kent husbandman (being in good and perfect memory I praise God therefore) do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. First I commend my Soul unto Almighty God my maker through the merits death and passion of his son Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer and my body to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned.

Item I do give and bequeath unto my son Robert Bance all my wearing apparel.
Item I do give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Bance my cubberd.
Item I do give and bequeath unto my daughters Johane ? and Catherine ? to each of them twelve pence apiece of lawful English money to be paid unto them within one month next after my decease.

The residue of all and singular my goods household stuff and chattels whatsoever not afore herein bequeathed (after my debts and funeral expenses satisfied and paid) I do give will and bequeath unto my foresaid sons Robert Bance and Thomas Bance to be equally divided between them.

And I do nominate and appoint my said sons Robert Bance and Thomas Bance Executors of this my present Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal.
