DATE: 8th September 1570, Proved: 14th May 1571.

To be buried in the churchyard of Frinstead and to the poor people at my funeral, bread, drink and money to the value of 6 shillings and 8 pence.
Item: To each of my godchildren 4 pence.

Item: I will to Marion my daughter the sum of 20 shillings to be paid at her marriage.
Item: I will to Joan my daughter the sum of 20 shillings at the day of her marriage.
Item: I will to Katherine my daughter the sum of 20 shillings at the day of her marriage.
Item: I will to Ann my daughter the sum of 20 shillings at the day of her marriage.
And if it should happen that any of my daughters should decease before they marry then their portion to be divided amongst the survivors.

All the rest of my moveable goods I give and bequeath to my wife Godlyf whom I make sole executor of this my last will.

I will that my lands in Frinstead be sold by Robert Allyn of Yolys and John Allyn of Terryhill and Godlyf my wife for the best price within one year after my decease and the money above the settlement of my aforesaifd legacies to be divided equally between my four sons, Thomas Barnard, John Barnard, Robert Barnard and Stephen Barnard at the age of 21
and if any should die before that a age the money to be divided between the survivors.

If it should happen that the child my wife now goeth with be a man child then I will that he should have his portion assigned to his bretheren, if a woman child then she to ahve the same amount as her sisters.
