In the Name of God Amen I John Bassett of Bromley in the County of Kent Tanner being at the Time somewhat indisposed in Health but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding (praised be Almighty God for the same) and calling to mind the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of this Life do hereby make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
And first I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God and my Body to be decently buried in the Parish Church Yard of Bromley aforesaid and in as frugal a manner as possibly may be and as touching such Worldly Goods Chattels and Effects whereof I shall die possessed I give and dispose thereof as hereinafter mentioned expressed ordered and declared

first I hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my loving friends William Twoort of Smokeham in the Parish of Tunbridge in the said County of Kent Tanner Richard Dicker of the Grange Southwark in the County of Surrey Tanner and Joseph Sale of Bromley aforesaid Carpenter joint Executors hereof

I give and bequeath the sum of Forty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain for the putting out my son John Bassett Apprentice to some Trade and for the Clothing of him during such his Apprenticeship
Also I give and bequeath to my said son John Bassett my Silver Tankard to be deposited into the Hands of my said Executors until he shall come to the Age of Twenty One Years

Also I give and bequeath unto my two Daughters Elizabeth Bassett and Mary Bassett and to each of them one large Silver Spoon
also I give and bequeath all my silver Tea Spoons to be equally divided between my beloved Wife Mary Bassett and my said Daughters Elizabeth Bassett and Mary Bassett

and as touching all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattels ready Money and all Money due to me at my decease on any account whatsoever and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I Will give and bequeath unto my said Wife Mary Bassett and my three Children Elizabeth Bassett Mary Bassett and John Bassett equally between them

And I do revoke all former Wills by me at any Time heretofore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the fourteenth Day of June in the Year of our Lord Christ One Thousand seven Hundred and Fifty John Bassett
