I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susannah the wife of Thomas Potter ten pounds of good and
lawfull money of great Britain
I give and bequeath unto my Grandchildren Thomas and Elizabeth Price the sum of five pounds apiece of like lawfull money
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Allen of Sevenoaks in Kent Widdow ten pounds of like lawfull money
I give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Barbara and Mary Sims the sum of five pounds apiece of like lawfull money
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the wife of Joseph Goff the sum of five pounds and to her
two children five pounds a piece of like lawfull money
I give and bequeath unto the two daughters of my son in law Edward Tompsett five pounds apiece of like lawfull money
I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth the daughter of my son John Stunt? five pounds of like lawfull money
And my mind and will is that the before mentioned Legacys be paid within twelve calendar months next after my decease
I give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Lydia Tubman the sum of twenty pounds of like lawfull money to be applied by my Executor hereinafter named for her use maintenance and education as he shall think most proper and convenient
I give unto my said daughter Sarah Allen all my wearing apparel linen woollen and the like and all my other linen and one chest
all the rest and residue of my goods chattles and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give unto John Stunt and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said John Stunt the sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke annul and make void all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament

The above registered Will of Elizabeth Bates deceased was proved the 21st day of September 1739 before the Rev’d James Lensbridge clerk lawfull Surrogate to the worshipful George Lee Doctor of Laws Official General to the Rev’d the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of John Stunt Executor herein named to whom administration of the Goods Chattles and credits of the said deceased was committed they being sworne well and truly to performe the same.
