In nomine dei amen xj die Junij Anno regina Elizabetha .... Anno domini 1602
I Tomasin Bax of Staple in the County of Kent Widowe being sicke in body but of p'fect memory (thankes be to God) do make my last will or testament
First I bequeath my soule to God hoping to be saved by the onelye merritts of Christe my Saviour, and my body to be buryed in Staple Church in the North Ally

Item I give into the poorest people of staple aforesaid two busshells of Wheate and a busshell of Malte to be equally distributed amongst them upon the daye of my buriall
Item I give unto Jann Dale my daughter my best gowne and my best Petticoate wth my Wollen Apron
Item I give unto Elizabeth Baxe daughter unto my sonne Thomas Baxe and to Alice Dale of Ash ether of them a linnen sheete,
and to Elizabeth Baxe daughter of Simon Baxe of Shatterling I give a Chest and a pothainger
Item I give unto Mary Baxe of Ashe a pewter dishe a pothainger and twelve pence of money
Item I give unto Richard Bax sonne of Thomas Baxe a pigg weaned

Item I will that Simon Baxe my god childe, sonne of Simon Baxe of Shatterlinge shall have five shillings of Lawfull money of England paid him wthin one Twelvemonth after my decease
Item I give unto John Baxe the sonne of Lawrence Baxe two shillings of Currant English money to be paid when he is fowerteene yeares of age
Item I give unto Elizabeth Dale daughter of Thomas Dale of Ashe my Lynnen Wheele

The Residue of all my goods by this my Last Will and Testament not bequeathed after my debts leagacies and funerall expences discharged I doe give and bequeath the same to Thomas Baxe my sonne, whome I doe make sole executor of this my last will or Testament

In Wittnes whereof I the saide Tomasyn Baxe have Caused this my Last will or Testament to be written and openly read and thereto have set my hand and seal the daye and yeare above written
