Knowe unto all men by these presents That I John Baxe of the parish of Staple in the County of Kent Yeoman am sick in bodie but of a perfect memory doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme as followeth the 12 of May Anno dini 1629
First I give and bequeath my soule to God that made it and my body to bee buried in the Churchyeard of the parish of Staple

Item I give unto my daughter Rodda tenn poundes whereof Five poundes to bee paid wthin twoe yeares after my decease the other Five poundes to bee paid within Foure yeares after my decease
Item more I give unto Elizabeth Taylor my grandchild and daughter of my daughter Rodda five pounds To bee paid within six yeares after my decease & the same Five pounds to bee imploied to the best use

Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Tenn pound whereof Five pound is to bee paid wthin two yeares after my decease the other Five pound to bee paid wthin Foure yeare after my decease
Item more I give unto John Parromer my grandchild, sonn of my daughter Elizabeth Five pound To bee paid wthin six yeares after my decease and to bee imploied to the best use

Item I give unto my daughter Jane tenn pound whereof Five pound is to bee paid wthin twoe yeares after my decease the other Five pound to be paid wthin Foure yeare after my decease
Item I give unto John Younge sonn of my daughter Jane Five pound to bee paid wthin six yeares after my decease to bee imploied to the best use

Item I give unto John Baxe my sonn whome I doe make sole executor of this my last will and testament All my lands goods and tenements with the appurtenancs thereunto belonging wth all the residue of my goods and Chattell not bequeathed in the parishe of Staple or else where

Furthermore my will and mynd is that if any of the said legacies bee behinde and unpaid According unto the tyme lymited and expressed in my will wch I have given unto my three daughters Rodda, Jane and Elizabeth That then they shall have free excesse to come unto anie of my said Lands to destresse and strayne to leade, drive, carry away and the same to detayne untill the said legacie bee paid

Furthermore my mynd is that if John Baxe my sonn die without heires Lawfully begotten of his bodie That then my three daughters shall have all my Lands good(s) and Tenements in the parish of Staple equally devided amongst them
Furthermore my said mynd is that my executor shall discharge all my debts legacies and funerall expences about my buriall

Alsoe I doe nominate and appoint Richard Baxe whome I make overseer of this my Last will and testament
and have cause it to be openly read in the prsence of John Pettett and William Pettett and Richard Baxe
and I doe appoint and give unto my Overseer Tenn shilling(s)

Daughter Elizabeth Bax married Henry Paramore 25 Jun 1621 at St. Nicholas, Ash (next Sandwich), Kent.
