In the name of God Amen I Henry Bayley of the parrishe of St. Dunstane unto and into the walls of the Citty of Canterbury black Smith being sick in body but sound of minde (thanks be given unto God) this 21th daie of November in the sixt yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland, King, defender of the faith etc. and in the yeare of our Lord God 1630 doe make and ordeine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (That is to say)
First I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God who made it and hath hitherto to his glory preserved it for wch his unspeakable mercies as namely for his creation thereof and for his preservation thereof I give him all possible thankes And as touching my body I comitt it to the earth whence it came to be decently interred in the p[ar]ishe Churchyard of St. Dunstane aforesaid and in the same place w[hi]ch shall be appointed by mine executrix hereunder named or by her assignes and as touching my temporall or earthly Goods wch God hath of his mercy bestowed upin me I freely bestow them in manner & forme following (that is to say)

unto my loving Wife and Executrix Phabe duering her naturall life and after her decease my will and minde is that my sonne (being all the sonnes I have, praise God) shall have them all and every of them forever francke and Free

And hitherto touching my temporall goods And where as God of his mercy hath also invested me wth a Certaine house wth halfe an acre of land more or lesse scituate in the pishe street of Petham in the County of Kent I freely and franckly bestow the rents and p[ro]fits issuing out of the same house and lands, And my will and minde is that my said executrix shall have the letting and setting of the same house and lands to the best p[ro]fit duering her naturall life as aforesaid and after her decease I freely bestow the same house and land upon my sonne aforesaid upon condicon [condition] hereunder following (That is to say)

That he my sonne Thomas Bayley shall pay out of the said house and lands the sume of fifteene pounds of good and lawfull mony of England in manner and forme following (that is to say)
my minde and will is that he shall pay to either of my three daughters Vizt. Susan, Scisilla and Elizabeth Bayley five pounds a peece when either of them shall atteine to the yeares of one and twenty

Provided alwaies that if either of them shall dye before they come to the age aforesaid either of the said five pounds shall not be paid but my sonne Thomas shall reserve it to his owne use and to none other use or uses

This is my last will and testament of my goods wheresoever and of mine house and lands in Petham aforesaid
And I desire that my executrix be carfull to see my debts paid

In Witnesse whereof I have the day and yeare abovesaid set to mine hand and seal

Note: Henry Bayley was buried at St. Dunstan, Canterbury on 6th January 1630/31.
