In the name of God Amen I John Birch of Sittingborne in the County of Kent Shopkeeper being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposeing mind memory & understanding (praised be God for the same) doe make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say
First and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God who gave it & my body to the Earth to be decently buryed by my Executrix herein after named
And as to what Worldly Estate it hath please God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof in manner following (that is to say)

I give and bequeath unto my dear and loveing wife Mary Birch all my stock in trade household goods plate linnen furniture debts due to me on Book bond note mortgage or on any other Security whatsoever and all other my reall & personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever To hold to her her heirs and assignes for ever to & for her & their own proper use & to & for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever
She first paying thereout my just debts & funerall Expences

Item I doe hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said dear & loveing wife Mary Birch full & sole Executrix of this my last Will hereby revokeing all former wills by me at any time heretofore made declaring this only to be my last Will & Testament.

In Wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seal this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand and seven hundred & forty seven
