In the name of God Amen the seaventh daye of September in the yeare of our Lord God one thowsand sixe hundred and eleven
I Steven Bishoppe of the parishe of Minster in thilde [the Isle] of Thannet in the County of Kent laborer being sicke in bodye but of good and perfect remembrance (I prayse God) doe ordeyne and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of almightie God my Creatr and redeemer and my body to bee buried in ye earth from whence it came

I give and bequeath unto Anis my wife my bed whereon I lye w[i]th one pillowe, one bolster, two Covlettes, two payre of sheets wth the bedstedle w[hi]ch I lye on
I give unto my sayd wife Anis one kettle, one pewter dishe, one Candlesticke, ij [2] sawcers, a linen wheele and a table, a couple of disches, ij spoones, one bowle, one chaire and her dwelling in the chamber at the ende of my howse xj [11] yere at Michaelmas next Comming wch is soe long as my lease doth last

I gyve and bequeath unto Agnes Bishoppe my Daughter a linnen wheele, a chest and a table wth the forme

The rest of all my goods and chattells whatsoever I have, my debts being payd and my funerall dischardged I gyve unto David Bishoppe my Sonne whome I doe ordeyne and make my executor of this my last (will) and testament
And I appoint Edward Wildbore my overseer of this my testament and I gyve him xijd [12 pence] for his paynes

Note: Linen wheel – was very much like a woollen wheel, and was used to spin flax into linen thread. Very common in Kent.
