In the Name of God Amen The twelfth day of April in the sixth year of the Reign
of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God King of England
Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the Faith Anno Dom 1734
I John Blake of Hadlow in the County of Kent Flaxman being in this Present somewhat infirm
of Body but of sound and Perfect mind and memory (praised be God) Do make
and declare this my Testament and last Will in manner and form following (that
is to say)
First Principally I do Will and Resign my soul to God that gave it hoping
to be saved only through the meritts of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and my Body
I commit to the Earth to be buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named
Item I do Will and give unto my three Daughters Jane Ann and Hannah
seperately halfe a Guinea a peice soon after my decease
Item I do make and ordain my Housekeeper Ann Ward of Hadlow aforesaid spinster the full and Sole
Executrix of this my Testament and Last Will and following towards the payment
of my Debts and Legacies Probation of this my Testament and last Will and other
incident Charges I Will give and leave to the said Ann Ward all my ready money
Goods Chattels and Credits Wearing Apparell Woollen and Linnen
In Witness whereof I the said John Blake revoking all former Wills by me made and have
hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year first above written The mark of John Blake
Proved at Rochester 22 April 1722
