This is the last will and testament of me Richard Boteler of Eastry, gent[leman]
First I bequeathe my soule unto Almightie God and my bodye to be buryed in Eastry Churche

Item I geve unto Elizabeth Boteler my other daughter two hundred poundes;
And to Katherine Boteler my other daughter two hundred poundes at their severall adges of Eighteene yeres or else at their dayes of mariadge

Item I geve unto Henry Boteler my second sonne A hundred pounds at the adge of twentie two yeres so that the said Henrye Release unto Jonathan Boteler all his right and interest in all the landes wch I have bequeathed unto the said Jonathan lyeinge and beinge in the p[ar]ishes of Eastry, Norborne [Northbourne] or any other pishe whatsoever in Kent And yf the said Henry shall refuse thereof I will the said hundred pounds to be paid unto Jonathan my eldest sonne his Executr or Assignes

Item I geve unto Mathew Boteler my third sonne A hundred poundes to be paide unto him at the age of twentye two yeres soe that the said Mathen doe release unto Jonathan Boteler all his right & intereste in all the lands wch I have bequeathed unto the said Jonathan lyeinge and beinge in the pishes of Eastry and Norborne or any other pishe whatsoever in Kent And yf the said Mathew shall refuse to see then I will that the said hundred pounds shalbe paid unto Jonathan my eldest sonne his Executr or Assignes

Item I geve to Thomas Boteler my 4th sonne A hundred poundes to be paide unto him at the age of twentye two yeres soe that the said Thomas release unto the said Jonathan Boteler all his right & intereste in all the lands wch I have bequeathed unto the said Jonathan lyeinge and beinge in the pishes of Eastry, Norborne or any other pishe whatsoever in Kent And yf the said Thomas shall refuse soe to doe then I will that the said hundred pounds shalbe paid unto Jonathan my eldest sonne his Executr or Assignes

Item I give unto Richard my youngest sonne a hundred poundes to be paide unto him at his age of twentye two yeres soe that the said Richard release unto the said Jonathan my eldest sonne all his right title & intereste in all the lands wch I have bequeathed unto the said Jonathan lyeinge and beinge in the pishes of Eastry, Norborne or any other pishe whatsoever in Kent And yf the said Richard shall refuse soe to doe then I will ys that the hundred pounds shalbe paid unto Jonathan Boteler his Executr or Assignes

my meaninge is that their releases shall be such as shalbe effectuall to beare them and their heires of any right title or interest that they or their heires can any waies claime owt of the lands or Tenements wch I have geven and bequethed unto Jonathan Boteler my eldest sonne and yf any of my sonnes dye before their age of twentie two yeres then I will their partes shall remayne and be devided unto the rest of them that shall Survive
And I (will) that if ................... .. they make such releases as shall have them and their heires all such right title and interest that they can and may have owt of the bequeathed premisses unto Jonathan my eldest sonne

Item I geve unto the poore of the pishe of Eastry Fortye shillinges
Item I geve unto Katherine Eglestone Fortye shillinges at her adge of one and twentie yeres or els at her daye of Marryadge

And of this my last will and testament I make and ordayne Katherine my wyfe my sole Executrix

This is the laste will of me Richard Boteler of Eastry gent

Item I geve unto Jonathan Boteler my Eldest sonne all the lands I late purchased of Vincent Austen lyeinge and beinge in the pishe of Eastry or in any other pishe in the Countie of Kent to him and his heires for ever
Item I geve unto Jonathan Boteler my eldest sonne nyne acres of marshe lande lyeinge and beinge in the pishe of Woodnesborowe [Woodnesborough] wch lands I had by the death of my brother John Boteler to him and his heires for ever
Item I geve unto Jonathan Boteler my sonne my howse at Chilham to him and his heires for ever
Item I geve unto the said Jonathan Certen howses in Sandwch wch I had by the death of my brother John Boteler to him and his heires for ever

Item I geve unto Jonathan Boteler my Eldest sonne my howse wherein I nowe dwell and all howses barne stables & orchards thereunto belonginge And all lands therewth I used and occupied lyeinge and beinge in the pishes of Norborne, Eastrye or anye other pishe in Kent whatsoever to him and his heires forever
Item I geve unto Jonathan Boteler my house barne & stable in Eastry Streete and all lands thereunto belonginge used or occupied wth the said house or in tymes past used & occupied to him and his heires

And yf the said Jonathan dye wthout yssue male then I will all the lands and Tenements before bequethed unto Jonathan Boteler unto Henrye my second sonne and to his heires males of his bodye lawfully begotten
And yf the said Henry Boteler dye wthout yssue males then I will all the said lands and Tenements to Mathew my third sonne and to this heires males of his bodye lawfully begotten
And yf the said Mathew Boteler dye wthout yssue males of his bodye lawfully begotten then I will all the said lands wch I bequethed unto Mathew to remayne to Thomas Boteler my fourth sonne and to his heiers males of his bodye lawfully begotten
And yf yt please God my sonne Thomas dye wthout yssue male then Richard my youngest sonne and the hieres males of his bodye lawfully begotten
And if it please God he dye wthout yssue male then I will all the landes before bequethed unto Richard my sonne unto the next heires of me the said Richard Boteler for ever

Item I geve unto Henrye Boteler all that twoe p[ar]cels of land als parishe land or pasture nowe Converted unto gardens Conteynine by estimacione twelve acres be yt more or lesse lyeinge and beinge in Sandwch in the pishe of St. Clement and nowe in the occupacione of Williame Gayssine or his Assignes to him (and) his heires for ever

Item I geve unto Mathewe Boteler, Thomas Boteler and Richard Boteler my sonnes all my houses in Sandwch before not bequeathed unto them and theire heirs for ever
Item I geve unto the said Mathew, Thomas and Richard three or fower acres of land more or lesse nowe in the occupacione of Andrewe Sweetinge or his Assignes lyeinge neere unto Sandwch to them and their heries for ever

And my meaninge is that Jonathan my sonne shall release all his right title and interest that he maye clayme in ye lands bequeathed to Henry my sonne and to his heires And alsoe shall release al his right title and interest wch he hathe in the lands and Tenements bequeathed unto Mathewe Thomas and Richard and their heires

Item my will is that yf my goods will not amount to discharge my legacies then I will that the revenewes of my landes shalbe receaved by my Executrix tyll such tyme as the money wch I have geven owt in legacies be Collected and then I will the profitts of my lands shall goe unto them to whome I have geven my lands in exchange

And I will that all thinges here conteyned shall remayne as my last will
