This is the last Will and Testament of me Daniel Boys of Godmersham in the County of Kent Farmer
I direct all my just Debts funeral and testamentary Expences to be paid out of my Personal Estate

I Give and Bequeath All my Household Goods Furniture Plate Linen China Monies Securities for Money live and dead stock Implements of Husbandry and all other my Personal Estate and Effects unto my Son William Boys his Executors and Administrators

Upon Trust to carry on and continue the Farm and Lands which I now hold of Sir John Filmer Baronet and in such case to pay unto my Sons Thomas Boys Horace Boys and John Boys their Executors and Administrators the Sum of Ten pounds apiece and to pay unto each of my Daughters her Executors and Administrators the Sum of Five pounds independently of their husbands respectively

And I do [fold in paper obscuring words] ... [probably: direct that the receipt] of my said Daughters (that is to say)
Lucy Gambrill the Wife of Thomas Gambrill
Jane Scott the Wife of Thomas Scott
and Mary Ann Brown the Wife of John Brown

shall be sufficient discharges for such Sum of Five pounds respectively and that their respective Husbands shall not have any power over the said Sums

And I hereby declare that such Sums of Ten pounds and Five pounds payable as aforesaid shall be paid before the expiration of two years next after my decease
And after such payments as aforesaid and in case my said Son William Boys shall carry on my said Farm and Lands I give all the Residue of my said Personal Estate an Effects shall be sold and the Monies to arise from such Sale shall be equally paid and divided unto and amongst my said Sons Thomas Boys Horace Boys John Boys and William Boys and my said Daughters Lucy Gambrill Jane Scott and Mary Ann Brown share and share alike as tenants in common and their respective Executors and Administrators

The share or shares of my said Daughter or Daughters to be for their and her separate use respectively independently of their said husbands and the receipts of my said Daughters to be a sufficient discharge respectively

And I do hereby nominate and appoint George Jeakin of Crundall in the said County of Kent Farmer and my said Son in Law Thomas Gambrill joint Executors of this my Will

In Witness whereof I the said Daniel Boys have to this my last Will and Testament contained in this and the preceding sheet of paper set my hand and Seal to wit my hand at the bottom of the preceding sheet and my hand and seal to this last sheet this Twelfth day of February One thousand eight hundred and thirty three

Notes:
William Boys did indeed continue a Farmer after his father’s death. In the 1841 census he is married to a Harriett and had 6 children, and was still living in Godmersham. The 1851 census indicates William Boys was born circa 1807 at Godmersham and Harriet his wife was 6 years younger than him, but also of Godmersham.
William was christened 12th October 1806, s. of Daniel and Mary Boys, at St. Laurence, Godmersham.
William Boys married Harriet Eldridge with consent of parents on the 27th February 1833 at Godmersham. Witnesses were: John Wills and Mary Harris.
Daniel Boys (of this Will), Ba., married Mary Day, Sp., on 25th January 1792 at St. James, Egerton and they had 7 known children that survived, at Godmersham.
Daniel was buried on 22nd December 1835, aged 73 at Godmersham (giving a birth date of circa 1762).
