In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Brattle of Goudhurst in the County of Kent Cordwainer being sick and weak in body but of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to almighty God for the same but considering the uncertainty of this Mortal abode on Earth do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
First I commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for Remission of my Sins through the Merits and the Intercession of Christ my Saviour and redeemer and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried according to the Discretion of my Executors herein after named and as to my Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I Give Devise and dispose thereof as follows
also I will that all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences be first fully paid and Satisfied

Also I Give and devise unto my Brother James Brattle of Maidstone in the said County all thise my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments Situate lying and being in the Parish of Goudhurst aforesaid together with the Rents Issues and Profits of all and Singular the said premises and all Arrearages of Rents I say I Give Devise and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof unto my said Brother James Brattle his Heirs and Assigns absolutely and for ever

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my Sister Ann the wife of Stapley Love of Staplehurst in the said County the sum of Ten Pounds
Also to Thomas Brattle of Lamberhurst the sum of Ten Pounds
Also to Sarah the Wife of Edward Osborne of Goudhurst aforesaid the sum of Ten Pounds
Also to Mary Yates of the Parish of Saint Olaves Southwark the sum of Ten Pounds
Also to Ann Burwash the Grand Daughter of John Brattle and Anne Brattle deceased the sum of Ten Pounds
Also I Give and bequeath unto my Brother William Brattle now or late beyond Seas in America the sum of one Shilling

also all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate or Estates whether real Copyhold or Personal of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever Situate lying and being and not by me herein before Disposed of I Give Devise and Bequeath the same and every Part and Parcel thereof unto my said Brother James Brattle of Maidstone aforesaid his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely and for ever

and I do hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint my said Brother James Brattle whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and Seal this sixth day of October in the Year of our Lord hereby revoking Disannulling disallowing and making void all former and other Wills Bequests and Legacies by me at any time heretofore made declaring ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and Seal this Sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Seventy two Thomas Brattle
