Will of John Breecher

of Milton, Kent

Alsoe I give and bequeath unto Mildred Breecher my daughter the sum of Two hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to bee paid to her when she shall accomplish the full age of Eighteene yeares by my executor if shee soe long live And I give and bequeath unto Mildred my said daughter my best bedstedle with curtaines and vallence my best featherbed feather bolster two feather pillowes with a paire of my best sheetes two pillow coates one paire of my best blanketts one coverlett and two silver spoons

Alsoe I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Pownd wife of William Pownd tenne pounds of lawfull money of England to bee paid to her by my executor or Overseers of this my last Will and Testament at the end of Twelve monethes after my decease

Alsoe I give and bequeath unto Ann Hanfeild daughter of William and Anne Hanfeild Fifty shillings of like lawfull money to bee paid to her at the end of twelve moneths after my decease as aforesaid

All the residue of my goods and chattels whatsoever my debts legacyes and Funerall expences being first paid I will and bequeath unto John Breecher my sonne And of this my last will and testament I doe make and appoynt the said John Breecher my sonne whole and sole executor And I doe make and appoynt Robert Plott of Borden in the said County gent and Richard Smyth of Milton aforesaid yeoman Guardians and Overseers of this my last Will and testament And I will that the said Robert Plott and Richard Smith shall have the custody of the said John my sonne and executor and of his portion untill hee bee of full age of one and twenty yeares and to bee brought upp in Learing and ordered at theire discretion they haveing reasonable allowance for the keeping of him

And I will that Elizabeth Pownd above named shall have the Custody of Mildred my said daughter soe long as shee the said Elizabeth shall bee contented to keepe and bring upp the said Mildred or shall bee thought convenient by the foresaid overseeers being allowed eight pounds a yeare for her meate drinke washing and lodging to bee paid by the said Robert Plott and Richard Smith or their Assignes out of the interest and profitts of my goods and chattels formerly bequeathed

And my will is that my best bedstedle with Curtaines and vallence best featherbed and bolster two feather pillowes with a payre of my best sheetes two pillowcoates one paire of my best blanketts one coverlett and one silver whissell and chaine bee kept for my said sonne (except that formerly given to my said daughter) unsould and the property unaltered And if it fortune either of my children to decease before they accomplish their said ages that then I bequeath his or her part soe deceasing to the other of them surviving to bee delined unto him or her accomplishes his or her age above mentioned And I utterly revoake all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacyes bequests Executors and Overseers by mee in any wise before made willed and bequeathed In witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my name and my seale sett unto this my present last will and testament the day and yeare first above written John Breecher published sealed and delivered to bee my last will and testament in the presence of

Oliver Lord protector of the common Wealth of England Scotland and Ireland and the dominion thereto belonging To Richard Smith one of the Testamentary Guardians to John Breecher the naturall and lawfull sonne and sole executor named in the will of John Breecher late of Coulshall in the parish of Milton als. Middleton in the County of Kent deceased -reeting where- the said deceased made his last will and testament and wherein did make the said John Breecher his sole executor wherenow in his minority and not capable of proving? The said will wherefore do give and grant unto you the said Richard Smith full power and authority to administrate all and singular the goods chattels and debts of the said deceased and well and faithfully to dispose of the same according to the tenor and effect of the said will And to demand collect leavy and legally require and receite all and all manner of debt and debts due and owing to the said deceased and out of the goods chattels and debts of the said deceased which have shall or may come to your hands or possession well and truely to pay the debts due by the said deceased and then the legacies and bequests conteyned in the said will soe few forthwithe same goods chattels and debts will thereto extend and the law will chardge you according to the true value and summe thereof you having first taken your oath well and truely to administer the summe according to the tenor of the said will And to make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and debts of the said deceased which have shall or may come to your hands possession or knowledge And likewise a true and just account therein and exhibit them both before the judges for probate of wills and granting administrators lawfully authorized touching with Juven-- you are assigned to performe at or before the first of June next ensueing And an accompt when you shall be thereto lawfully required And lastly wee doe hereby constitue ordeyne and appoint you the Richard Smith administrator with the will annexed of all and singular the goods chattels and debts of the said deceased to the use and during the minority of the said John Breecher given at Westminster under the seale of the Court for probate of wills and granting of administrations the sixt day of May 1654
