In ye name of God amen this nineteenth day of June in ye yeare of our lord god 1649 I JOHN BRENCHLEY of Rodmersham in ye county of Kent husbandman beeinge sick in body but sound in minde and of pfect memorie praysed bee god doe make and ordain this my testament containinge therein my last will as followeth.
Imprimus I give and bequeath my soule into ye mercyfull hands of almighty god my blessed creator and redeemer and my body to ye earth to bee buried and for my temperall goods wch god in mercy hath given mee I thus in his----------dispose of them.

Imprimus I give and bequeath to my two brothers CHRISTOPHER BRENCHLEY and BARTHOLOMEW BRENCHLEY one shilling a piece.

Item I give and bequeath to my sister MARGERY BROCKWELL one shilling.
Item I give to my wifes sister ELIZABETH STRETTIN one shilling,

All others my goods chattels---------this my will beeinge pformed my debts payd & funerall rights discharged I give and bequeath to MARY my loving wife whom I doe make my whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have heereunto sett mine hand and seale ye day and yeare first above written: Signed sealed and published & declared to bee ye last will & testament of ye sayd JOHN BRENCHLEY in the presence of:
