The eighteenth day of September in the two and twentieth yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord King Charles the second - Ano dom 1670. I BARTHOLOMEW BRENCHLEY of Wormshill in the countie of Kent yeoman being sick and weak of body butt of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament followinge that I doe hereby make and ordain ELIZABETH my wife to be executrix of this my will and I do give unto her all my goods and Chattels whatever for and toward the paiment of my debts and clearing the engagements on my lands And as touching all my land house and tenements in Wormshill or elsewhere in the Countie of Kent. I give unto ELIZABETH my wife for and during the terme of her natural life

And after the death of ELIZABETH my wife I do give all my aforesayd Lands unto my son JOHN BRENCHLY Conditionally he pay unto my two daughters ANNE BRENCHLY and MARY BRENCHLY to each of them twenty and five pounds of lawfull money of England in the parish church porch of Wormshill within one yeare after the death of ELIZABETH my wife then to him and his heirs forever

And my mind and will is in case of default of paiment at the time and place aforesayd of the said twenty and five pounds apeice to each of my sayde daughters itt shall and may be lawfull for my sayd daughters ANNE and MARY or either of them to enter the sayde house and lands before given unto my son JOHN BRENCHLY and the same to hold pett and lett and receive the proffits thereof until the aforesayd twenty and five pounds apeice to each with all charges by reason of nott paiment be fully satisfied and discharged

And lastly after the death of ELIZABETH my wife I doe give and bequeath unto ELIZABETH my daughter the wife of John Potter twenty shillings per yeare out of my sayd lands before given during the terme of her naturall life half yearely to be payd that is to say att St Michael the Archangell and the Enunciation of our blessed virgin mary by equal portion the first paiments to be made att the next feast as shall happen after the decease of ELIZABETH my wife and in default of paiment it shall be lawfull for my sayd daughter ELIZABETH or her assigns to enter upon the sayd lands and house and distraine and the distresse so taken to leade drive and take and carry away and detain untill the aforesayd twenty shillings pr yeare and the charges by reason there of nott paiment be fully satisfied and paid.
