Then I give and bequeath all and singular my monies securities for money book debts Trade stock in trade household furniture linen plate china personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of whatever nature kind or quality soever the same may be and consist of at the time of my decease unto my dearly beloved wife CHARLOTTE BRENCHLEY for and during the term of her natural life for her own absolute use and benefit
But if the said Charlotte
Brenchley contract a marriage with any other man after my decease or whenever the said
Charlotte Brenchley may be called upon to depart this life Then after such marriage or
decease which shall first happen
I give and bequeath to unto HENRY BRETT of Greenstreet in the parish of Linstead in the
county of Kent victualler and THOMAS LOCKYER of the parish of Teynham in the said county
haydealer All and singular the monies and securities for money book debts trade stock in
trade household furniture linen plate china personal estate and effects whatever they may
consist of at the decease or marriage of my beloved wife CHARLOTTE BRENCHLEY upon trust that
they the said HENRY BRETT and THOMAS LOCKYER or the survivor of them or the executors or
administrators of such survivor do and shall with all convenient speed sell and dispose of
all such property which an be turned into money for the absolute use and benefit of my four
children hereinafter named
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said HENRY BRETT and THOMAS LOCKYER to
be joint executors to this my will upon further trust when the trade stock in trade household
furniture and everything is turned into money in the best way and manner which the said
executors may think to be the most advantageous for the benefit of my four children Then
my will and meaning is that they my said executors or the survivor of them or the executors
or administrators of such survivor do after they have paid every just expence cost and charge
in executing this my will equally and proportionally divide the residue of the said remaining
property amongst my four children in the following manner that is to say,
MARIA BRENCHLEY to have one fourth of the residue of the remaining property
CAROLINE BRENCHLEY to have one fourth
EDWARD BRENCHLEY to have one fourth and
JANE BUSBY to have one fourth of the residue of the remaining property
to be paid absolutely to each and every one of my said four children by my executors as aforesaid If one or any of the aforesaid children should depart this life before the execution of this my will and leave no child or children such deceased's fourth part will be lapsed I hereby also declare that my said executors shall not be answerable the one of them for the other of them and by no means for involuntary lapses and that they and each of them shall and may retain and reimburse themselves all their reasonable costs charges and expences to be sustained in the execution of this my will And I do hereby revoke all former wills.
In witness whereof I the said DAVID BRENCHLEY the testator have to this my last will and
testament (written on one sheet of paper) set my hand and seal the day and year first above
written David Brenchley
Signed sealed published and declared by the said David Brenchley the testator as and for his
last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and the presence of each
other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto.

The before registered will of David Brenchley deceased was proved the fourth day of January 1841 before the Reverend John Metcalfe, Clerk, Surrogate to he Worshipful Sherrard Beaumont Barnaby Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Thomas Lockyer one of the executors named in the said will He being first sworn duly to perform the same (Power being reserved of making the like grant to Henry Brett the other executor when he shall apply for the same).
