I give and Bequeath to my wife Mary Brenchley the whole of my property wheresoever and whatsoever for her life and at her decease to be equally divided between my surviving children and if either of my children should depart this life before the said Mary Brenchley my wife and should have children lawfully begotten they the said children shall receive their father's or mother's share.

The before registered will of William Brenchley deceased was proved the twelfth day of May 1841 before the Reverend John Poore D.D. surrogate to the worshipful Sherrard Beaumont Barnaby Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Mary Brenchley widow the relict of the deceased and Thomas Read the executors named in the said will They being first sworn duly to perform the same.
