In the name of God Amen The xiiijth of November in ye yeare of our Lord God a thowsand fyve hundreth Syxte eighte
I Robert Brett of the paryshe of Ryngewolde beinge sycke in bodye, but of good and p[er]fett remembrance, praised be God, doe make my last will and testament in manner & forme followinge
First I commytt my Sowle to allmightye God And my bodye to be buryed in the parryshe churche of Ryngewold aforesayd
Item I gyve to the poore mens boxe there a ijs

Item I gyve and Bequethe to Alyce my wyef one acre of wheate and ij acres of Barlye yearely durynge her naturall lyef To her also I gyve one Cowe
Item I gyve to Alice my wief twentye wethers and twentye Ewes And Tenne pounds in money Also to her I gyve Tenne seames of Barleye

Item I gyve to Robert Brett my eldest sonne my howse that I nowe dwell in with xv acres of land thereunto belongynge to hym & his heyers for ever
And I will that his mother shall have her dwellynge in the same howse dureynge her naturall lyeff
Item I gyve to Robert my sonne my three acres of lande that I boughte of Wyllyam Martyn lyenge w[i]thin the lordeshippe of Ryngewolde
Item I gyve to Robert my sonne two house and a Cowe

Item I gyve and bequethe to my two sonnes Rychard Brett and James Brett my other howse cauled Aubots w[i]th the rest of my lande, To be equallye devyded betwene them
And will that my sonne Rychard shall have the occupyenge of his brother James parte untyll the age of twentye and one yeares
Also I will that None of my Sonnes shall sell his p[ar]te excepte his bretheren and to any other

Item I gyve to Rychard my Sonne ij mares and one Cowe
Item I gyve to James my Sonne ij geldings and one Cowe
Item I gyve to my daughter Elizabeth x [10] ewes and x weathers, fyve seames of Barlye and one Cowe, to be payd at the day of her marryage or half a yeare after

The resydue of my goods I will to be equallye devyded amongst my three Sonnes Robert Brett, Richard Brett & James Brett
And I make and ordayne Alyce my wyef and Robert my Sonne my Executors of this my last wyll & Testament

Probatum fuit: 16th October 1571

Note: Robert Brette was buried at St. Nicolas, Ringwould on 25th March 1571.
