Will of Thomas Brett

of New Romney, Kent

Also I will and bequeath unto Anne my wife the sum of fourscore pounds to be paid her by my Executor hereunder named within one year immediately after my decease
And also the sum of four pounds presently after my death if she live unmarried.
And if she shall happen to be married after my decease then I will unto her only fifty pounds and the residue of her portion before limited being thirty pounds I will to the residue of my sons then living equally to be divided between them

Also I give unto my son George the sum of one hundred pounds the half whereof to be paid within one year next after my decease and the other half thereof within one year and a half after my decease

Also I will unto John my third son the sum of one hundred pounds, the one half to be paid within one year after my decease and the other half thereof within one year and a half after my decease

Also I will all my household stuff and all other goods remaining within my dwellinghouse or the house wherein I now dwell to my wife and my said younger sons equally to be divided among them

Also I do hereby ordain and appoint my son Thomas sole Executor of this my last will and testament to whom also I will and bequeath the residue of all my goods and moveables here in not bequeathed after payment of all the legacies before mentioned and my funeral expenses discharged

In witness whereof I have hereunto set mine hand and seal dated the five and twentieth day of September in the nineteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord James by the Grace of God of England France and Ireland king defender of the Faith Cr and of Scotland and in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred twenty and one
