This is the last Will and Testament of me Angelica Randall Brown late of Teignmouth Devon and now residing at Southbarrow* Bromley Kent * Southbarrow was a large house.

I give and bequeath unto my brothers Lt. General Samuel Brown and Lt. General Sir John Brown K.G.B. * All the monies standing in my name in the Bank of England or that I may be possessed of * K.C.B. = The Most Honourable Order of the Bath

My trinkets ornaments Rings and the boxes which contain them I bequeath to my dear Niece Adelaide Wilkinson of Clapham Rise
I bequeath to my dear friend Mrs. Chalbirch of Teignmouth the Sum of Twenty five pounds
I bequeath my wearing apparel and my writing books with one years wages to my servant Sarah Russell in return for her attention to me during my illness

And I hereby appoint my said two Brothers to be my Executors and administrators

This is a Codicil to my Will dated 25 October 1850

Considering that my brothers are at an advanced age and subject to many Infirmities I hereby appoint my Great Nephew Alfred Wilkinson of the Stock Exchange and No. 2 Clapham Rise to be my Executor to my said Will and for his trouble I give and bequeath to him the sum of one hundred pounds

In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury In the Goods of Angelica Randall Brown Spinster deceased

Appeared Personally Joseph Russell of Southbarrow near Bromley in the County of Kent Baker one of the subscribed Witnesses to the last Will and Testament and also to the Codicil thereto of the said Angelica Randall Brown late of Southbarrow near Bromley aforesaid Spinster deceased the said Will and Codicil bearing date respectively the twenty fifth day of October 1850 and the twenty third day of December in the same year
And the Appearer having now carefully viewed and inspected the said Will and Codicil made oath that on the said twenty fifth day of October the said Testatrix only executed her said Will by signing her name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of this Deponent and of Mary Ann Lawler Spinster (now Walker, Widow) the other subscribed Witness thereto who were both present at the same time and the said Mary Ann Lawler and this Deponent thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said testatrix and of each other and the Deponent further saith that on the said twenty third day of December the said testatrix likewise only executed her said Codicil by signing her name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of this Deponent and of the said Mary Ann Lawler the other subscribed witness thereto who were both present at the same time and the said Mary Ann Lawler and this Deponent thereupon attested and subscribed the said Codicil in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other

On the 18th day of April 1855 the said Joseph Russell was duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit

Proved at London with a Codicil the 25th April 1855 before The Worshipful John Elliot Pasley Robertson Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oath of Alfred Whitby Wilkinson (in the Will written Alfred Wilkinson) the Great Nephew the Executor named in the Codicil to whom admon. [administration] was granted having been first sworn duly to administer. Power reserved of making the light grant to Sir John Brown Knight the brother the surviving Executor named in the Will when he shall apply for the same.
