To be buried in the churchyard of Boxley
At the day of my burial and months mind I wish to be said and sung three dirges and 30 masses and enough bread and meat for the poor as be thought necessary by my executors.
At my years mind 20 shillings to be distributed to the poor.
I also want a yearly obituary at the said church for 10 years at 6 shillings and 8 pence yearly, paid for by my two sons John and William.

Item: to Margaret my wife all the goods she brought at the time of our marriage, that is 1 flockbed, 2 dishes of pewter, 2 saucers, 6 candlesticks, 2 brass pots, 1 cauldron, 1 steeping pan, other pieces of brass, 3 painted cloths, 3 testers in the parlour and another in the maidens chamber, 1 blanket cloth, 4 older cushions, 3 bolsters, 2 tables, 1 barrel, one pipe with another table (?), 1 old pot, 1 trevett, 1 gridiron, 1 long plane, 3 chests, 1 good cushion, a platter, 1 possing (?), 1 spoon of silver, 3 pillows, 3 pillowcases, 1 spit, 3 basins of latten, 1 basin of pewter and also cattle, that is to say 3 kine, 6 sheep, 4 hogs, 6 bushels of wheat, 6 bushels of malt to be delivered to her at my mansion house where I now dwell.

Item: the table in the hall shall remain there for the use of my son William and my table in the parlour for my son John to be taken by him immediately after the death of my wife. She also to receive 6 shillings and 4 pence yearly for life.

The residue of my goods to my 2 daughters except my dozen silver spoons, the which I bequeath 2 to my said wife, 4 to my two sons and the other 6 to my 2 daughters.

Item: to each of my godchildren unmarried 4 pence.
Item: 14 shillings and 8 pence for a house priest to sing dirges and masses for my soul, my father and mother�s souls and all Christian souls.

My executors to be Roger Jones, clerk, Edmund Polhill, to each 6 shillings and 8 pence for their trouble.

My lands, John to have my lands that were Robert Barling�s in Detling, a piece of land called Nashes and further land in Detling called Longham, Stennying, Estecrofte, Combe, Clover croft and others in fee simple.

Item: my son William to have my tenement where I now dwell, (a long list of lands were then given) in fee simple.
My wife is to be allowed to live there and to brew and bake in the kitchen so long as she be disposed to dwell there.
