In the name of God Amen in the yere of our Lord God 1593 & in the xxvij daye of March in the xxxv of the reigne of our Sovergne Ladye Elizabeth the Quene M�tye yt nowe is &c
I William Burden of Chart next Sutton Valence in the Countie of Kent yoman being in good & p�fect remembrance (thanks be to God) make this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme followinge
Item first I comend my soule into the hands of Almightie God my maker & to Jesus Christ his only sonne my redemer by whose death & passion I hope to have Free remission of all my sinnes when it shall please him of his goodnesse to take me out of this transsitorye wold & my body to be buryed in the Church yard of Charte aforesaid

Item I will & bequeath to Clarence Burden my eldest daughter one bedsted w�t the tester of paynted cloth one featherbed one feather boulster twoe downe pyllowes twoe blanckets one coverlet one payer of my best shetts my best chest w�t the locke & key & my best brasse pott.

Item I will & bequeath to Annis Burden my yongest daughter one bedsted w�t the tester of paynted cloth one featherbed one feather boulster, twoe downe pyllowes twoe blanckets one coverlett one payer of shetts one chest w�t a locke & key & one brase potte

Item all the residue of my goods & chattles as well reale as p�sonall I give & bequeath to my sonne John Burden whom I constitute make & appoynt my sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament he p�forming the Condicon here after reseite & paying my debts & legacyes aswell alredye rehearsed & as thoise w�ch hereafter I meane (god willing) to sett downe

This is the last Will & Testament of me the said William Burden made the daye & yere w�in writen as concerning the disposinge & geving of my landes

Item I will yt my said sonne John have the use & occupacon of all my howses & lands in Chart aforesaid & in Boughton Monchelsey w�t in the said Countie of Kent the remaynder of xxiiij ty yeres after my decease reckininge f�rd the daye of the date of this my will under this condicon
Yt my said sonne John doe not hereafter b�gayne sell geve or graunt awaye his land lying & being in Bennenden in the said Countie of Kent (in w�ch I made him joynte purchaseour w�t me of) untill he come to the age of xxx ty yeres

& further to thend & intent yt w�t the yssewes & p�fitts yt will come yerly thereof to paye my debts yf soe be yt my movables on? & .. above my legacyes above mencioned will not paye & content my Creditors & after my debts being soe payd according to my good meaninge then I will yt my said sonne John paye of the said issewes & p�fittes to eche of my said daughters xl � a peece (yt is to saye) to my daughter Clarence yerly x � And to my daughter Annis yerly x � untill their said sev�all legacyes of xl � apeece be payd

Item my will & intent is yt yf my said sonne John happen to sell & graunt & assure awaye his land or any p�te thereof in Bennenden aforesaid before he comes to the age of xxx ty yeres then my twoe daughters Clarence & Annis shall have the use & occupacon of my said lands in Chart & Boughton aforesaid for the residue of the said xxiiij ty yeres then to come after the said sale soe made aforesaid

Also yf it happen yt my said sonne John refusse to take administracon of this my last Will & Testament then my mynd & intent is yt my twoe daughters Clarence & Annis shalbe my Executors of this my last Will & Testament & they to take the issewes & p�fitts of my said lande in Chart & Boughton aforesaid during the said space of xxiiij ty yeres fro� the date hereof as aforesaid payinge my debts & afterwards deviding the residue of the said p�fitts betwene them.

Item I will & my mynd is (yt after the end & expiracon of the said xxiiij ty yeres yt my said howse & land in Chart & my howse & lande in Boughton aforesaid w�ch I late purchased of Edward Younge) to remayne & be to theldest sonne of my said sonne John & to his heires for ever

& I likwise will & give (after thende & expiracon of the said xxiiij ty yeres) to the yongest sonne of my said sonne John & his heires forever my said other howse & lande in Boughton aforesaid w�ch I late purchased of John Robinson

& yf my said sonne John happen to dye w�out heire male of his body lawfully begotten then I will yt my daughter Clarence have my howse & lande yt I late purchased of Edward Yonge to her & her heires forever & my daughter Annis to have my howse & lande in Chart aforesaid & my other howse & land in Boughton aforesaid w�ch I late purchased of John Robinson to her & her heires for ever.
