In the name of God Amen I James Callant of Maidstone in the County of Kent Carpenter being in p’fect health of Body and of sound minde memory and understanding praysed bee Almighty God for the same Doe this Eight and twentieth day of Aprill in the Yeare of our Lord One Thousand Six hundred Ninety and Seaven Make this my p’sent last Will & testament in writing in manner following (That is to say)
First and principally I commend my Soule into the hands of my Gratious Creator hopeing for Salvation and ternall Life in and through the meritts and mediation of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Christ And my Body I committ to the Earth to bee decently interred att the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named
And as touching the disposicon of that small temporall Estate w’ch God of his infinite goodnes hath blesst mee withall I dispose thereof as followeth

Imprimis I give to my now wife Sarah One Shilling and noe more She haveing security already by my Bond in Consideration of Marriage to leave her worth a certaine summe of money at my death w’ch my desire is may paid & p’formed according to the time therein specified

Item I give and bequeath to my Grandchildren Anne Swaine and James Swaine All my Goods Chattells ready money household stuffe and p’sonall Estate and Substance whatsoever and wheresoever the same shalbee had or found att the time of my decease to bee kept for them by my daughter Mary Swaine their Mother untill they shall sevally attaine to the Age of Eighteene yeares and then to bee devided betwixt them by their said Mother
And if either of them shall happen to dye before hee or she shall attaine to such age my will & minde is the Survivor shall have the whole
But if it shall happen that both of them doe dye before they shall attaine to such age as aforesaid Then I give and bequeath the same to such other of my said daughter Mary Swaines Children as shalbe Liveing at their respective Ages of Eighteen yeares share & share like

But my desire is that my Executrix shall first pay my debts & funerall expences within good time And I doe hereby nominate constitute and appointe the said Anne Swaine my full & sole Executrix of this my last will
But if it shall happen that she shall not bee of Sufficient age to prove the same at the time of my decease Then my will & minde is that my said daughter Mary Swaine shall take out the probate thereof during ye minority of my said Executrix or otherwise act for her & in her behalfe as the Court in such Case shall direct

And I doe hereby revoke disanull and absolutely make void all former & other wills by me heretofore made
In Witnesse whereof I the said James Callant to this my p’sent last Will and testament have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first within written
