In the Name of God Amen This Ninth day of May in the third year of the Reign of our Sovereign King Lord George the third of Great Britain France and Ireland and so forth and in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty three
I Rebecca Cannon of the Parish of Saint Dunstan in the County of Kent near the City of Canterbury being of sound and perfect mind and Memory (Praised be God) Considering the Uncertainty of this Transitory Life and being desirous to settle the where with it hath pleased God to bless me with do make and declare this my last Will and Testament with my one hand Writing in manner and form following (that is to say)
First and Principally I Yield my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping to be saved by the only merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and my Body I Commit to the Earth whereof it was first formed to be very Privately Interred in whatever parish I should happen to dye in

Also I do nominate and Appoint my Loving Husband William Cannon Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament

And Whereas by an Indenture Tripartite made before my Marriage with the said William Cannon bearing date the seventeenth day of November Sixty two and made between the said William Cannon on the first part and my self by the Name of Rebecca Kelley of the City of Canterbury Widow of the second part and John Wear of the City of Canterbury of the Third part and Thomas Wear of the same City
I therein reserved to my self full Power and authority to settle and dispose of by Will or other deed in Writing duly Executed to give and dispose of all Moneys Goods Chattels and Personal Estates and such further real and Personal Estates as shall at any time or times hereafter come descend Accrue and be intitled to after the death of my said Husband William Cannon

I do also Nominate and Appoint my said Husband William Cannon Sole Trustee and Guardian of all the Real and Personal Estates that was left by my former Husband John Kelley to his and my Only Son and Child Benjamin Kelley that the said William Cannon shall have full Power to Act for my said Son Benjamin Kelley till such times as my Son shall attain to the Age of One and Twenty

I do also give and bequeath to my said Husband William Cannon a Legacy that is lately Left me by my honoured Father John Wear of Eight hundred pounds with all other Moneys or Estate that has or may at any time come decend accrue and be intitled to for and during the term of his natural Life

And after the decease of my said Husband I give devise and bequeath all the aforesaid Moneys to be equally divided unto all and every the Child and Children that it shall please God to bless me with that shall be Living at the time of my death that I may have by my Husband William Cannon

In case I leave no such Child or Children living at the time of my death or such Child or Children happen to dye before he she or they attain the Age of one and twenty Years without Issue of their Body or Bodys Lawfully begotten then I give and devise all my aforesaid Moneys to my Son and only Child Benjamin Kelley in case no Expensive disputes or Law Suits arise between him and his Father in Law in settling his Affairs when he comes at Age
If any such disputes should arise then the aforesaid Benjamin Kelley is not to be intitled to any part thereof but I do then give and bequeath all such Moneys to my Loving Husband to defend himself with

But in case no such disputes shall arise and the above named should happen to dye without Issue as I have Expresst it in the above, then I do give devise and bequeath
one part in Six to my Brother Thomas Wear of the City of Canterbury
and one sixth part to my honoured Mother Elizabeth Wear
and one sixth part to my Mother in Law Mary Cannon of the Town and Port of Dover
and the rest and residue to my Sister Elizabeth Rye the Wife of Abraham Rye of the City of Canterbury

And Lastly hereby revoking all former Will Wills by me at any time heretofore made do declare this and only this to be my Last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Rebecca Cannon the Testatrix to this my Last Will and Testament contained in one Sheet of Paper thereof my hand and seal have set and put the Year and day First above mentioned

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Rebecca Cannon as and for her Last Will and Testament in the Presence of Us who have Subscribed our names as Witnesses in her Presence and at her request

This Will was Proved at London on the twenty sixth day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Four before the Worshipfull George Harris Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Worshipfull Sir Edward Simpson Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully Constituted by the Oath of William Cannon the Husband of the said deceased and Sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular he Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased he having been first sworn duly to Administer.

Rebecca Cannon was buried at St. Dunstan, Canterbury, Kent on 3rd April 1764.
Rebecca married her first husband in 1751: John Kelly of St. George the Martyr Canterbury, married Rebecca Wear of St. Mildred, Canterbury, at St. Mildred’s parish.
Rebecca Kelley (Widow) married William Cannon on 18th November 1762 at Canterbury
