In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Cannon of the Town and Port of Dover in the County of Kent Mariner do hereby make publish and declare my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)

I give devise and bequeath all my Estate and Effects both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever that I shall die possessed of interested in or intitled unto to my Son Thomas Cannon and my Son in Law James Gravenor their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns
Upon this special Trust and Confidence that they do permit and suffer my beloved Wife Catherine Cannon for and during the Term if her natural Life to receive have and take the Rents Issues Dividends and Profits thereof and to use possess occupy and enjoy the same in such Way and Manner as she shall think proper she committing no Waste or wilful spoil thereof

And Whereas I have already advanced and paid unto and for my said Son Thomas Sums of Money to a large Amount now in order to make my Daughter Mary the Wife of the said James Gravener equal or nearly so with my said Son Thomas I give devise and bequeath unto her my said daughter Mary the Sum of Four hundred and fifty Pounds to be paid her immediately after the death of my said Wife

Item all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my said Estate and Effects after the death of my said Wife I give devise and bequeath as follows (that is to say)
One full equal Moiety or half part thereof the same to be divided into two equal Parts or shares I now devise and bequeath unto my said Son Thomas Cannon To hold to him his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever
And the remaining Full equal Moiety or half part of my said Estate and Effects I give devise and bequeath the same unto my daughter Mary the Wife of the said James Gravener To hold to her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

And I do hereby appoint my said Wife Catharine, my said Son Thomas and my said Son in Law James Gravener Executor(s) of this my Will and do revoke all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the Thirteenth day of May one Thousand seven Hundred and seventy eight

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who in his Presence at his request and in the Presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto

This Will was proved at London the twelfth day of June in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Eighty three before the Worshipful Andrew Coltee Duracel Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of James Gravener one of the surviving Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
Power reserved of making the like Grant to Catherine Cannon Widow the Relict of the deceased and other surviving Executor named in the said Will when she shall apply for the same.
