In the Name of God Amen
I Katharine Cannon of the Town and Port of Dover in the County of Kent Widow do hereby make publish and declare my last will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First I direct all my just debts Funeral expences and the charges of proving and executing this my Will be paid and satisfied and after payment and satisfaction thereof

I Give devise and bequeath all my Estate and Effects both real and personal of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever that I shall die possessed of interested in or any ways intitled to unto all and every my Grandchildren, namely James Gravenor, Mary Gravenor, George Wright Gravenor, Thomas Cannon Gravenor and Jolly Gravenor their heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever equally to be divided between them share and share alike to take as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants

Nevertheless it is my Will and meaning that my executor hereafter named shall at any time or times hereafter at his discretion sell and dispose of my said Estate and effects or any part thereof and I do hereby authorize direct and inpower him so to do and the monies arising therefrom and from the sale or sales thereof or any part thereof to be applied by him to and for the benefit and advantage or the advancement in life of my said Grandchildren in such way and manner as he shall think proper

And I do hereby declare that the purchaser or purchasers of my said Estate or Estates or any part or parts thereof shall not be answerable liable or accountable for any part of the said purchase money but that the receipt or other discharge of my said Executor shall be a sufficient indemnity and discharge to such purchaser or purchasers

And I do hereby appoint my Son in Law James Gravenor of Dover aforsd. [aforesaid] Gentleman Executor of this my Will to whom I Give and bequeath a mourning ring of two Guineas value
and do revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only my last Will

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this tenth day of October in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Eight

This Will was Proved at London the twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety before the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully Constituted by the Oath of James Gravenor the Elder the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was Granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly to Administer

On the 26th February 1795 Admon. [Administration] with the Will annexed of the Goods Chattels and Credits of Katherine otherwise Katharine Cannon late of the Town and Port of Dover in the Co'y of Kent Wd. decd. [Widow deceased] left unadmt. [unadministered] by James Gravenor the sole Exor. named in the said Will now also decd. was granted to James Gravenor the Son and sole Exor. named in the Will of the said James Gravenor decd. he having been first sworn duly to Admin'r.
